Hey all,
I had my first story published about a year ago, and have a few other in various stages of development. After re-reading my initial submission (which I labored over for weeks), I realized that there are still things I'm not happy with and should have enlisted the aid of an editor.
Rather than sift through the (sizeable) list of editors and try to guess who would want to work with my stories, I thought it would be best to find someone based on their liking of my work and general direction.
To a strict grammarian, or perhaps even a seasoned writer, my work may look like a rats nest of repetition and poor construction. (I can just imagine what my high school english teacher would say.) In some cases, this might be so, which is why I think an editor could help greatly. But the style of repetition and punctuation is intentional, as I try to write stories that are "voiced" rather than constructed.
I'm also heavily into the use of vivid and seemingly unrelated imagery (another area that can be problematic for traditional english teachers). I've found this has taken me to places I have never gone before, discovering subtleties in sexuality that more often ring true than not.
So, if you like my story, please feel free to contact me by PM here or in this thread.
Thanks.
