Search "Members" - there are multiple variations on chinadoll, but no China-doll registered on Lit.

The author in question did a story called "Forever Again". I search for them but I haven't been able to talk to them. I'm not sure if they have PMs on or not. From all indications, from the profile, they're open to communication with fans. I'm posting this here in hopes of catching their eye.

Strange search logic going on, then. The China-doll Pilot found didn't show up in my search of China-doll or chinadoll. That's weird. And here's me, thought you could trust a search engine to give you an intelligent answer.

Mind you, Pilot writes private eyes and detectives and I don't, so maybe that's it....

The search engine is case-sensitive. The name Pilot found is "china-doll" not "China-doll" or "China-Doll"

Oh, no, it's more complex than this. I found the author through the story title. There are two indexes for finding authors. The Author Index hasn't worked right for at least four years. I'd be surprised if it was fixed in the "new Literotica" that's been in the works for a year. When I pointed it out as one of the functions not functioning here, Laurel said everything on Literotica was functioning properly and that I was a troll. But the Author Index still doesn't pull up half the author names you'd try on it.

So, there's this other index. Members Search index. That's the one I usually use. But that didn't work for "china-doll" either. Although the system will give an account name with a hyphen in it, neither the Author Index nor the Members Search index will recognize the hyphen. "china-doll" doesn't come up in a search of either the Author Index or the Members Search index.

I only found it through the work title the OP gave via the Story Search index.

What are the bets that this functions will function properly when the new system is finally rolled out? If you want to be called a troll by Laurel, feel free to report that these two don't fully function.

Thank you for all the help but, I guess I missed my opportunity to contact them. I was hoping that this thread would possibly catch their attention. China-doll seems to only pop by here randomly throughout the year. Hopefully I'll catch them next time.

Well, no, you didn't miss an opportunity to contact the author. I give you a link to a means to contact the author and you haven't indicated whether you've tried the means you have been provided. What effort have you made to contact the author?

This is from an earlier post. I did try to PM them but I got no response. On the story they wrote, they said that they appreciated feedback and I believe they never said that PMing wasn't a preferred method.

I'm guessing that the author is possibly on hiatus or is not accepting any real attempts to contact them at this time.
