I'm looking for an experienced, skilled editor.
I've had a few, but events forced me out of writing for a while, and I pretty much lost all my old contacts... editors, beta readers and the like.
I'm back now. I've reams of stories to submit, but I'll be revising them a bit before submitting them... I've this quirk about hand-writing my stories, so I've got to type all but a few of them up.
I just submitted chapters one and two of Annika's Islands (Which I've edited... myself. Yuck.) Each chapter is about 10k words (give or take a few thousand) and I've tried to make them self-contained enough to be read as short stories, but when all is said and done it will make a nice long novel.
The subject matter of my current project (Annika's Islands) is that of Incest/Taboo. If this is a problem for you, let me know.
Assuming you respond favorably to this post, I'll send you a sample chapter via Email. If you are interested, you can edit it for me. I'll review your work, and if things go well I'll accept you as my primary editor.
Typically, in the past I've had two or more editors to help JUST with the editing (Spelling, grammar, continuity) and a core group of beta readers to help with the actual plot, storyline, and character development. In the event you may wish to make a comment on the storyline/character development/etc, please feel free to do so. But keep it separate from the grammar and whatnot. And know that, while I'll listen to you on the Editing stuff, I may or may not on any creative input.
It's a lot of work to be my editor, but you'll find I'm willing to change my writing habits to make things easier for you, I learn from my mistakes quickly, and I won't even chew you out if you tell me my writing sucks
