Looking for an editor, long-term

I would love to have an editor who at least enjoys my stories. The stories I have written thus far have not been edited and I think I have taken hits from that aspect, but my scores have been pretty good thus far. If you would be interested in being my editor here for future stories, please browse through my stories and get a feel for the way I write. My grammar has never been the greatest, but I think I am good at describing a scene. I had an editor when this post was originally made, but I lost contact with her because of the lack of writing. So here goes part 2 of my search.

My story "Marty the Midget's Erotic Christmas" won 4th place finish in the Holiday contest and "A Ghost of a Chance" has been my most praised work. "Wifebeater" has a bit of a bite to it and was supposed to be my Valentine's Day story, but it wasn't accepted for the contest. My newest edition, "Food, Rude, Nude & Wooed" was written for the Humor & Satire category as an entry for the Nude Day Contest. If you enjoy any of those stories and are interested in being my editor, please message me here or private message me. By the way, I love to write for females, so I would prefer a female, but not too picky. :p

As a last resort I will go to the editor page, but I prefer someone who enjoys my writing. I am re-writing my ghost story and adding some more chapters because of the fan email I have received over the year. That will be one of my first projects. Thank you!

Just in case ...

... you haven't already tried it, here is the standard answer.

Click here and pick the one, or ones, which best suit your needs. They are supposed to reply in 72 hours.

Mucho grassyass snoop. I was looking for someone that was looking too and was interested in my work. Thanks though.

Problem with this is, it almost never works. I lost my editor due to the fact she lost her computer. I can't tell you how many others (alot) I have contacted through the list. Only one response from all the ones I contacted and that one didn't work out (said I could send story, I sent it... never heard another word.)

Personally, I think the whole list should be deleted and started over with some kind of rule stating if they don't access their editor profile every other month or so, it gets deleted.

I believe that as soon as they get a writer, they are pretty much done. Tis a shame, but I got to try anyway.

I have only been ignored entirely once when using that list. But the other thing, sending the story and never hearing jack-- now that's happened four times.

I tried here, too. TWO of the supposed editors posting here didn't respond, and one of those two has no e-mail on file at lit (no button in the "profile" saying "Send Stewpidahss an e-mail!") Yet his post in the thread said "e-mail or PM me..."

But the ones here, with one exception, send back an edited story, at least. Or, mostly edited. One sent back an UNCHANGED one, which was weird; I figured I was 'way good, no errors whatsoever, how delightful!

One sent a file, in MS Word format, even though I said I didn't own Word, of a version more recent than mine (which is ancient). I loaded it into a plain-text editor and found she'd done it in "redline" mode. But my older Word couldn't read it. So she might as well have tossed it out the fuckin window for all the good it did.

I thanked her and submitted with my own edit, fuck that, she took 20 days.

You want to have someone look it over and make suggestions, catch problems, but there comes a point when another month is just too long to dick around.

So it's been good and largely successful, in my view, considering the old but still relevant quotation from Belushi: "Whaddya want fer nothin'? Rubbah biscuit?"

These guys do it, when they do, which ain't always by any means, for free, and that ain't hay, brother. So quit bitchin'.:D

I hear you Cantdog. I would be grateful for the freebie, and I will try to be patient. I have asked a couple of editors using the form too. So I will just sit back and see what happens. Thanks for your reply and thoughts.

I remember that discussion. Ought we not follow through on it?

I'll bell the cat. I don't feel angry about the situation, so I can be civil. Anyone mind if I PM Laurel and call her attention to the thread snoop mentioned?

It's all good. Go for it.

I would not dare to interfere with your right to PM whomsoever you wish.

In fact I would fight to defend your right so to do, even if I disagreed with your thesis, which is not the case here.
