i finally fixed my story (or stories, as it turns out) enough to have them edited if anyone would be kind enough to help.

so, yeah, i have two lesbian stories i need edited. one is 12648 words and the other is 10404 words.

they both involve youngish( 18, but still in high school) characters, first time and other stuff like that. the main issues are missing words, occasional misused words, ly's, run on sentences and the fact that the second one might include references to the first one that i failed to edit out.

they were both the same story for awhile, then i split them to write as a series and then i decided to take out any references to each other so they could be read as stand alone stories in case i decide to not continue the series

if anyone could help that would be great. if you think you can do both, that's awesome, if you think you can only handle one that is awesome too. i'm not in a big hurry here as i am currently trying to write my first gay male story (or, more accurately, finish my first decent gay male story), so i promise not to rush anyone even though i may ask how you're doing every once in awhile if you agree to help me just because i like to know what's going on.

i look forward to your responses and, trust me, i won't be deleting this post anytime soon. the buggers are done this time. all they need is editing.

thanks in advance.

Don't you hate it when a post gets totally ignored.

I thought I'd at least say hi, and let you know I saw it.

I seem to be the editor with all the free time currently. Or either I have no life whatsoever. Let me know if I can be of assistance. I have a few things I'm working on, but I don't think anyone should be feeling unloved. :)

silly, little mod.

oh, i'm sure they think they have their reasons, but, yeah, if you really want to give it a shot that would be awesome. i will be pming you for/with specifics.

and i am now bumping this in case anyone else would be interested in helping. don't believe the hype, people.

Is that worse than an editor who is old and male and therefore unqualified to edit stories about young lesbians posting to say, "Not my scene"? I would have though that answers from half a dozen editors all refusing the request on various grounds would be even more depressing.

That's unkind. Lady C is just doing the job she took on. She doesn't make the rules, the owners of this site do. If you don't like the rules here, you are free to go and play somewhere else.

1) there will be no prizes given out for most oddly defensive post.
2) being old and male in no way disqualifies someone from editing a lesbian story. lack of interest might, but not your age or sex. trust me. if i could remember the title i'd suggest a volume of lesbian stories written by gay men and gay stories written by lesbian women that has been suggested to me on several occasions mostly by lesbians.
3) she edited my post. i am therefore allowed to give her a little shit in return. it's an unwritten law of the internet.
4) i doubt she cares. i know i wouldn't.

I totally see where you're coming from on both points, but also where pointless is seeing things. . . sometimes you just want to know that someone noticed, even if they can't help, but a lot of "sorry not interested" could be a bit disheartening.

Mods know that they are gonna catch crap, and we all know that in the end we have to follow the rules, because being banned is no one's idea of a good time.

Oh, sorry for being preachy, I'm just feeling oddly diplomatic today. I'm sure that this too shall pass.
