Looking for an artist

I am thinking about establishing a website to sell my ebooks. What I really need at this point is someone to illustrate it.

I'd pay, of course.

I would suggest that if there is an artist that you like, you ask them if they are up for the gig.

The right artist can really make all the difference in books.

For example, Frank Frazetta did the covers of the Conan books. They weren't terribly memorable works from what I hear. But boy did people buy them. And Frank, he wasn't a get 'er done artist. Each work he was putting ink or paint to paper and saying "Here it is, the best I can do, and it's fuckin' awesome ain't it?"

I'm mildly interested.. I've always wanted to draw some porn for dough. Might have a friend who is interested, mildly once more.. Which are just red flag right there. Only hire someone who is ready and eager to jump into the task. Get a portfolio if you don't see one here. Make sure their work is finished. There's plenty of japanese nerds out there who do great work if you like Anime. Also you may want to investigate DeviantArt. Yeah, it'll cost.. but.. wouldn't it be worth it to get that one set of pics that puts you on the map?

Hi i am interested in doing some work for you, how about you choose one of your stories pick points in it you would like illustrations of and let me see what i can come up with? are you thinking of real looking photos, b&w pencil type or more cartoon type? all my work is digital and im happy to have a go and you see what you think, no charge as this will be my oppertunity to prove myself, hope to hear from you soon

I have PM'd several artists here, and none has wanted the job. I think it may be a question of bona fides, I don't know.

I am a published author, on Amazon Kindle, anyway.

You're right, though: have to see some real enthusiasm for the project.
