Hey everyone,

There are some stories on Lit that I am aware of in a "category" I would call "all-american boy/girl", and which I quite like...
For example,
"The Link" by DreamCloud (even though that clearly is Science Fiction),
"New Girl in Town" by AuroraIncident (rather normal compared to the other ones here),
"Lady in Red" by Harddaysknight (well, that is especially over the top)
"Eye in the Sky" by blackrandl1958 (Science Fiction again, but categorized under Novels and Novellas).
"The last Boy Scout" by TX Tall Tales (that one aludes to a "universe" and at the same time a rather "normal" protagonist, even though I have only found 5 stories related to it)

As you can see, these stories are all over the place story-(category-)wise, even though I guess they have in comon that they are
* all long (Novella / "universe"), with lots of pages / chapters
* go on in time, so there are some "coming of age" aspects in them, or more generalized, an aspect of the person maturing,
* talk about some young person (who does not need to be a high school senior, but could also go to college/university),
* have (a) protagonist(s) who is/are good in sports or turn(s) out to be (while that is fun and allows a lot of heroism / opportunities for showing how good they are, in my mind the person could excel in something else as well, maybe band or so), and
* finds a significant other (duh, it is lit, after all).
* All the ones I have seen in this area are also set in the US, but that is actually not a requirement from my point of view... (yes, I know, I called it "all-american", but I called it that because it is just the examples I have found)

Now, after this long layout... Can YOU tell me about similar stories to the ones above / that fit the "category" I am describing?

Many thanks in advance, take care, and live long and prosper,
fishkopp

PS: I am not looking for harem stories (like "High School Harem", "Bossom Buddies", etc.), those sure can be fun as well, but that is for another day/thread...

I've got three featuring good looking All-American characters aged 18/19 you might like:

Sally & the Sailor - Set in 1943, a tomboy and the handsome young man next door who has joined the Navy.

Pretty Paula's Poodle Skirts - Set in 1957, pretty female college student and young apprentice builder who rent rooms at the same house.

Penny & Michael's Forbidden Fun - Set in 1962, a good girl falls for a guy in her high school class (both are seniors aged 18) of whom her parents would never approve.

Hey RetroFan, thanks a lot, I read a few of the stories you mentioned, and they are very nice!
... the only thing is that they don't really fit into what I am looking for in this thread, given that the stories are relatively short, and they rather depict a specific moment in the protagonist's life instead of showing a longer/extended period of it...

To you all, do you have suggestions for stories that I am looking for?
One other example I found is the "Runaway" / "Waking Up" / "Finding Home" series by MsCherylTerra (even though I have to admit that I am saving actually reading "Finding Home" for a rainy day, so you could argue that I do not know what I am talking about... ;-) )

@steelpoint: Please, kindly share them... Or do I need to change the title for the thread / open a new thread? :)

Like I tried to say in my original post, the "all american" really is rather from the first few stories that I stumbled upon, and in my definition is more of a typical (youngish) person of his home country who develops/matures over time...
e.g. MsCherylTerra's story are Canadian - which, yes, is "(North) American" (the continent), but not "(US) American" (the country). But even Merriam Webster and Collins only use "All American" as alluding to "US American".
