Hi there, I recently read a story about a man who had separated from his wife and moved cities to try and start again. Various family members had visited him and tried to get him to "be reasonable", which didn't work.
Then a friend visited him, ostensibly to get drunk and have a good time. He was the only one who didn't try to get him back together with his ex, but said that she had been extremely distraught for a whole year, and it ended with the guy picking up the phone.
I cannot remember who wrote it and it's diving me nuts!
