I remember reading this a really long time and now it's bothering me that I can't find it:
The hero is captured and in a dungeon severely injured and blinded. The heroine is able to heal by absorbing the injuries onto herself and heals the hero, almost dies and ends up blind but is rescued.
Help me out!
