Looking for a story

I'm looking for a story about 2 neighbors who were childhood friends that end up together. He meets her when her family moves I the area as she's sitting on a tree branch asking him where he's running to. The story ends with him saying something like he was running to her the whole time or something like that. That's all I can really remember about it
