looking for a story where a woman is trapped in a cube and given as a gift

From what I remember, the main character was a man who received a gift from a business associate of a woman who had been encased into a cube of some sort. It's not the storage facility stories by oneagainst. I believe there was also a mention of a woman who had been turned into a wardrobe or some other piece of furniture at the request of her family, but that may have been an entirely different story I read in that same timeframe. I'm 95% sure I read it on here maybe a decade ago and haven't managed to find it ever since. Any ideas?
