I'm writing this, because I'm trying to find a story that used to be one of my favorites and (at least in my memory) was quite well-written.
I lost track of it a few years ago. I say lost track, because it had been, for a fairly long time I believe, at, or near the top of the Erotic Coupling top list.
I don't remember the title, or the names of the two main characters, but a general summary, and the details I remember are as follows:
Protagonist is a guy who recently got out of a long-term relationship and isn't doing so well in the aftermath. In his late 20s or so? He's going to a gas station/convenience station/quick mart not far from his apartment to try and get out, and possibly buy some snacks and beer (I think?). He does his business there, but whilst in the store, notices a young, college-age girl dressed in punk-ish, alternative clothing and with tattoos, piercings, coloured hair, etc, that he finds strangely attractive despite his taste generally being rather different. He gets his beer, and starts making his way back to his apartment, walking. It turns out the girl is ahead of him, also walking, the same way. They end up eventually realizing they live in the same apartment building, after some jokes about each other following each other. They nearly each go on their way, but one or the other proposes having a drink and talking, or something. They enter the "punk" girl's apartment. They drink, end up listening to some various different records/CDs, relate to each other over their shared distaste of her roommate's Hip-hop/Rap music, and talk some, and despite being fairly mismatched and unlike each other, make something of a connection. They speak about relationships, life, etc. She's going to school there for art, I believe? Can't remember for him. They start making out (I believe), and she fairly confidently takes control of the situation and starts to give him a hell of a blowjob. Things escalate, and he ends up taking her somewhere in the hallway to their bedroom, slamming her against a wall, their clothes half-off and trailing from the living room, and they fuck somewhat roughly and quite passionately. (possibly damaging a book case, and some other stuff?) They eventually move to the bedroom, and have sex somewhat more intimately and softly, but things are still charged. They're clearly comfortable with each other, and something clicks at some level. He ends up staying the night, and they wake up in the morning, and have some relatively fraternal talk, and are on good terms. The story ends not much after that.
I apologize for not providing more detail, and for my fairly crappy & inaccurate retelling, but it's most of what I can remember clearly. I remember it being fairly well written and done, and it definitely deserved its acclaim. It was at the top of the erotic couplings all-time top list for quite a while, until at one point, when I went to look for it, probably several months since I had last, it had disappeared completely, and no search of any kind that I did could find it. I assume it was likely deleted? That was years ago, at least. I want to say 2-4? Could have been a year or two more than that. I'm not really sure. It's been a while. Ha-ha.
Any help at all, or ideas, or even just a name, title, or author, would be greatly appreciated. If I could find it again, that would be absolutely amazing.
