As I recall, it had at least three or four chapters; it began with the sister debating whether to go home for Christmas and making a bet with her roommate that she would regret the decision to do so. Her roommate/occasional lover was of the opinion that her desire to see her brother again was so strong that, so long as he actually kept his promise to be there, she would not regret going home.
They apparently came from a troubled household; their parents are both dead, but while they were alive they were actively abusive toward both of their children. After he left home, running away to Alaska, at eighteen, she was eventually raped in the garage and became pregnant as a result. She attempted suicide and was successful only in killing the baby and rendering herself infertile.
Their aunt and uncle, at whose home they were to be staying for Christmas, both leave on vacation, leaving the house in their care, and one thing leads to another.
Such is what I can remember. I have tried everything I could think of to find this again; I'm hoping someone else recalls it.
