A stumbled on a really good story a while back that I never got to finish, and despite spending hours with the search engine I haven't had any luck.
As best I can remember there is a somewhat reluctant ambassador/emissary sent to contact a colony (it was a sci-fi setting I believe). The male protagonist is accompanied by a woman who offends the people by speaking to the men of the culture and they become outraged so she has to leave. It was essentially a male dominated society and the female ended up in some sort of nude chain harness that kept her stimulated while the women of this new culture/colony/planet were trying to teach her proper manners. That's as far as I got and I'm kind of hoping someone knows the story I'm talking about.
