So this is my first thread ever on this site(on any forum actually, so please correct me wherever I may have gone wrong), even though I have been a member for a while.
I read this story in the Romance category, where the story starts at a bar(or a restaurant... I don't remember clearly), the man who is the protagonist, meets the girl, who, we come to know, was his girlfriend in school. But they ended their relationship on a sour note. When, after many years, they do meet in the said bar/restaurant, they start kind of arguing with each other. Another old couple sees them and kinda make remarks that they are a great couple....or some similar remark, to which they reply they are not a couple. The protagonist's friend plans a Get Together or Reunion of some kind, where these two meet again, and there is some kind of card game involved.... I do remember this. And then they are told to go have their 7 minutes in heaven.....or something similar(I really don't remember). There they disclose their insecurities of why they ended their relationship. The girl had a boyfriend before(or after) the protagonist in college/school who was a swimmer(if I remember correctly.....or was it a different story?!). At the end, they have sex(duh!) and when the guy says did the girl tell anything to her mother about their relationship, she says she did not. Because if she had done that, her mother would have probably said " I told you so"
So that's all the bits and pieces that I can remember from that story. Help me find it. Thank you
