Looking for a Mother/son story

Read the story several years ago and have been unable to find after many tries. Goes something like this: Son sits in the floor while mother, father and son watch tv. Son thinks mother sends some signals and he slowly explores while father is in recliner. Story is kinda long and from the sons point of view. Mother and son finally get together. The son eventually finds pictures that his father had a love affair with his mother( the sons grandmother). Thanks in advance for any help!

Interesting. There are so many stories that explore variations on this theme. I'm not familiar with this particular one. I wrote a fairly short story about mom and son sitting together watching TV with dad watching, drunk, from a big chair nearby.
