Looking for a loving wives story that I was reading when my computer restarted and unfortunately I was unable to remember the title or author's name when I logged back in.

The story was a multi-part and revolves around a man who is divorced by his wife Carol for reasons she initially refuses to share with him.

I believe the story is set in England.

He subsequently learns that she accused him of adultery and alleges that she has irrefutable proof, but he has never cheated on her.

He is beaten up by the LW's two brothers, and her family give the two brothers an alibi that they had been with the rest of the family at a BBQ at the time in question and therefore the MC is unable to prosecute.

The MC is understandably very upset and gets a transfer to another division elsewhere in the country.

After three years (I think) he has progressed well in his job and is seen as a rising star by the CEO.

He is regarded as having excellent fault finding and resolution capabilities and is given a special role to advise the CEO on areas of weakness in the various divisions.

He dates several women but nothing serious develops. He is visited by his good looking cousin from Canada, Ontario I seem to remember, and she stays with him.

As part of his being fast tracked in his career, the MC is asked to transfer back to his original location where he had lived with his ex wife.

He returns to his former division but now he is the head man. One of the people now reporting to him that had formerly been a colleague of his, is the current fiancé of his ex-wife (I think his name was Liam O'Malley, but I'm more confident in his first name than his surname).

O'Malley is very unhappy and anxious about the MC's return, especially in his position as the big boss.

After bumping into his ex-wife at a restaurant or pub with her fiancé, she confronts him and accuses him of cheating. He denies ever cheating and demands to see her proof.

She leaves the restaurant and the MC receives a text from her reiterating her accusation.

I think the text he received from her may have given more information to the MC about where and when the alleged cheating took place, in any event he embarks on an exercise to interview as many people who were present at the company party where the cheating was supposed to have occurred in order to discover the truth.

He pieces together enough evidence to identify his ex wife's fiancé, Liam, as the culprit. Liam had a camera with him at the company party and he cobbled together a set of photographs consisting of some genuine photos of the MC assisting a drunk colleague, which he had done at the behest of one of his seniors at the party, and others of the same woman sexually engaged with a man who resembled the MC.
At some point the fiancé bursts into the MC's office and tries to scare off the MC, but his threats are picked up by the recorders in the office and he is suspended for his misconduct.

The MC's house is broken into and trashed. One detail was that his whiskey stock was upended but only one relatively cheap bottle was broken.

It transpires that the fiancé had put the brother up to it. The brother is not very bright and he is picked up by the police near the MC's home and has the balaclava he had worn for the crime still in his pocket.

As the MC does not have access to his former wife, he persuades a friend who was at the party to present her with the evidence via a woman friend of hers. I think her name may have been Susan, but I'm not 100% sure.

At this point the laptop restarted and I was not quick witted enough to save the story or memorise the name.

I think the names and details I recalled are correct but it is possible that I may have confused one or two so please don't be thrown by any inaccuracies.

I was really enjoying the story and looking forward to reading the subsequent parts, so any help in identifying it for me would be very greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
