A while ago I read a story in the Loving Wives section and it struck a chord.
It was about a man who finds out his wife committed adultery with another man from their neighborhood and he issues her an ultimatum of sorts: she is free to keep seeing the man but as far as the husband is concerned he and the wife are finished, the husband outright says he hates her, but he wants to try to keep the family together for kids sake. Essentially he accepts being a cuckold for the sake of the kids and lets his wife have her relationship with this neighborhood 'friend'.
It was a rather dark story that went into the damage to the husband, both publicly and personally, and the wife slowly realizes the damage her infidelity has caused on the marriage and her husband over the length of the story. If I remember correctly they stay together in an open-but-not-really type of relationship (the only person playing the 'open' side is the wife with the friendly neighborhood lothario), with some counselling and a pseudo reconciliation throw in, until the kids (kid? Possibly only the one child in the story) head off to college. In a twist the wife is the one that ultimately offers an amicable divorce and sets the long suffering husband free.
For the life of me I just cannot remember who wrote this (IMO) great story and what it was called. I should have created an account to save it or emailed the author to say thanks but alas hindsight is 20/20 etc.
If the above description sounds familiar to anybody please don't hesitate to leave a suggestion as to what you think it might be!
Thanks.
