It sounds to me like you already have all the tools you need. For me a good erotic story, short or long, must have certain elements, a unique opening, a crescendo of events or energy, explicit detail, and a surprise ending or "hook".

Painting erotic pictures on the blank canvas of another's mind is a wonderful past time. The personal enjoyment one finds, the firm aching nipples, the warm moist folds, or the uncontrollable erection that one gets while writing such a piece should also not be ignored.

Let it be your guide. If I am writing and a plot or a scenario doesn't get me aroused, I let it go. My stories all contain some of the "4F's" (fact, fiction, fantasy and fetish). These are all great tools, use them wisely. I love to create writings that draw on my reader's varying degrees of sexual knowledge and experience.

Sometimes I like to write passionately, while other times more raunchy and unbridled as sex has a unique way of showcasing both. In short, If I orgasm while creating an erotic work, I feel much better about the prospects for my readers to do the same. I often edge when I write, it keeps all my senses acute.

I like writings that call on readers to look within themselves at their feelings and their fantasies, no matter how pure or dark they are. I want to embark on a journey of erotic discovery with them. I hope these little tidbits of self taught style help you as begin to form your own writing style. I am around if you ever have any questions or comments.

I have 9-10 works published here, nothing special but, a baseline if you will, all with different settings and themes, I hate slipping into a rut when I write. You are not only welcome to, but also invited to give them a look.

Just be careful... get all your thought on paper an outline... or even write it out on your own... then ask for one of these literary experts here for your help... I am not a writer and I needed help too...

One thing that I found is what you may intend the story to be may not be what is ultimately written... If it's "jerk" material... then it will get plenty of hits and likes... Mine was 3 pages... I had my thoughts... before during after... my state of mind... before during after... what led me to what I did... and so much more that a man would find boring but a woman would get the emotional connections parts... There was much more thoughts.. what was someone or myself thinking... I felt that was super erotic and detailed... But my story published is one page and probably good enough, it does not really exhibit my emotions or any emotions in the story.

It's not anyone's fault at all... Just may not be what you want and what a reader wants... are not the same

The advice you have so far received is all very good. My first stories I thought at the time were what people wanted to read, but if I look back at them now, I find them to be naïve. I try to include a main plot or theme, rather than just erotica and I have listened to many of the comments, some appreciative, some not so much.

I've never written erotica, but have written a lot of "normal" stuff, to include technical writing, submissions to professional journals, poetry, role-playing game content (and even some contributions to published works), so I can edit, check grammar/spelling, and bat around concepts and ideas.

I would enjoy the opportunity to assist, especially since I've long thought about trying to write erotica, but haven't because I'm not sure if it would be any good.

Have a clear point of view.

Starting with lots of backstory is fine, but you can then delete the initial 20% of the overall story—backstory’s boring. A few hints is enough to frame the folks and the situation. If you hook readers, they’ll figure it out.

To paraphrase Hitchcock: a screenplay is very difficult to write, but once it’s written, all you have to do is write the dialogue, and you’re done. Ie, we tend to overvalue dialogue.

Have a clear point of view**

Some personal erotica quibbles. I’m a guy, and porn/erotica is the only place I’ve ever heard anybody, ever, discuss bra sizes or exact penis length.

To my mind, the provocative part of erotica is the big step to getting to mucus membrane involvement. While there are some probably subtle differences, I don’t think many people’s erotic footprint involves the subtle differences between orgasms (ie, lengthy recitations of orgasmic sound effects, etc, don’t advance the story). This is likely to be obvious to you, however, since you seem to have the second X chromosome, which presumably serves a protective function in regards to overestimating the interest in such things.
