The story is about a happy couple until wife goes to work as an event coordinator. She hooks up with a hotel owner and husband catches her. After reviewing divorce options he commits suicide (staged as an accident) and gets revenge from grave.

Do you mean to say he fakes his death so he can burn the bitch or that he becomes a ghost and she thinks it's an accident beforehand?

More story details: there are 2 children involved. Wife starts an event planner business in California. Husband always trust her and takes care of the kids while she is out doing weddings and etc. she gets to know a hotel owner and make business deals with him. The hotel owner has a female assistant and warns them both that they are getting too close. She ends up quitting after she sees them hook up. Gives another warning to the mom. One weekend when the wife is doing a wedding away from home the husband decides to surprise her and books a suite at the hotel gets babysitter and is all set. He is in hotel and can’t find wife goes into where the reception was, walking towards the elevators he hears his wife and hotel owner talking and making out and then hear her say let’s take this to your room. Husband walks around the corner and says his wife name questionable about what’s going on. She immediately knows she is caught and cry’s no,no.no. Any way husband leaves goes home packs up and leaves the family home. As he researches his divorce options he finds out he’s screwed. He works with his lawyer friend and takes out huge insurance policy on himself. After some time he drives off a cliff. Death is ruled accident wife blames herself. (Lawyer did not know his plan) 5 years past and the lawyer has instruction to give a letter to his ex. The 5 year wait was to ensure insurance money is secure. The letter basically makes sure kids get everything wifegets nothing and everyone in family is notified she cheated. He also puts adds in major newspapers and internet about the hotel owner is a no good wife stealer (lol). He loses his business and wife loses he mind and hates the hotel owner. That’s basically the entire story.
 
I thought this story was familiar as I had read it just a couple weeks ago. The quality and quantity of LW stories over the summer was very low so I had taken this opportunity to revisit some of my favorite authors. It took me a few minutes but I think the story you want is 'Pay the Piper' by ttt59.
