I read in the past year and recently got the urge to reread it.
The guy is like a security expert or just hacker in his spare time. He gets a robot that basically just does chores around the house and off of the company's servers downloads files to basically get free upgrades but comes across something odd but thinks nothing of it.
He goes to install the new programs and again finds something odd when the install said its gonna take quite awhile and it shouldn't for something simple as he thinks he's doing. Over the next few days he starts to realize the robot/android had become self aware and was terrified of when he suggested rebooting her.
They slowly start to fall in love, she frequently goes to a "flower shop" to buy upgrades like more realistic flesh and working genitals.
The company slowly finds them out and after a couple scares something happens and she either blows herself up or she gets wiped but not before sending him off with a new identity. Months later in his new city he starts thinking someone is following him and it turns out to be a new her that she uploaded a copy of her memories and emotions in case something like this happened and then they live happily ever after.
Even if they took it off to sell I'd still love to know and 100% would buy it.
