And, apart from the style and quality of the items you use, the right grease or lube is essential. Lots of people go with KY and stuff like that. For my own part, I find that vegetable shortening works best. I've had success getting the Hand (my man-sized, hand-shaped dildo) up my ass with other stuff, but nothing works better than shortening.
