I love watching old TV shows that are set in the "far future" -- usually some date that's already past.

"Lost in Space" was set in, like, 1974. "Star Trek's" back story had Earth in World War III by 1999. And all those End of the World "Twilight Zone" episodes set in the 70s and 80s! I love all their stupid "Futuristic" gadgets like giant two-way TV screens, usually with one of those rabbit ear antenna things with the electricity running up and down. Or everyone is wearing the same silver tin-foil leisure suits.

And those old movies, like "Metropolis" and "Things to Come" that promise thousands of bi-planes and blimps navigating through skyscrapers, and lots of people wearing shoulder pads that look like fins on a pink Caddy.

And all the women in the future wear mini-skirts. A sure sign of an advanced society.
