Lady...not in CA....I am afraid to say.

Knitting? well, Leicester is very famous for it's hosiery and still is...lot of that sort of industry in Leicester.

not many big hoisery factories left in Leicester, gone are Corahs, Byfords, Wolsey,Pex, IN fact the list is endless, Also enginnering has gone, like Bentlley(knitting machines) wadkins (wood working machines) jhones & shipman (grinding machines) icold be typing all night. sounds like your better off down under, ladybird. If you reconise any names {ukin} give me a note.
