OOC: for the moment, this will be a closed thread between myself and purpleproserose

IC: Ensign Charles Jaeger was a good soldier, and a hard worker. He did his assigned jobs well, but received no praise at all. He had been passed over several times for promotion or transfer, and he was starting to feel he was stuck onboard the Asteroth. The Asteroth was a small ship. It had a small crew, led by a woman. The woman was a total knockout, long dark red hair, round, firm breasts barely held in check by her uniform, and long, slender legs shown off at every turn by a tight dress skirt. Her name was Talia Sherman, and she was a hardass. She was always busting his chops, more, it seemed, than the other male crew. He had a hard time keeping his temper in check with all the insults and angry words. Still, he managed to do his job, and do it well. He was scheduled to report to her office in ten minutes with their course heading and current location. He had gathered the necessary information, and walked slowly to her office, dreading the encounter. Every time she saw him, she started yelling at him. He idly wondered how often she got laid anymore. As he approached her door, he stopped for a few moments, and took a few deep breaths. Then he stepped through the door as it opened, right on time.

I hear the hiss of the door as I wash my hands. I know this means that you have arrived for your scheduled report. ~Damn. That was close! I've got to get a handle on these hormones!~

I like you, Jaeger. You have a lot of potential. You're bright, efficient, and goddamned hot, in my opinion. I'd give you a tumble, if you weren't my subordinate. Maybe that's why I'm so hard on you. Of course, I can't tell you any of this. It's not proper or ethical.

I look in the mirror and see that I'm still flushed from getting myself off. Thinking quickly, I splash water on my face. Towelling off my face, I round the corner to the office, setting down the decorative candle that I just used to fill my pussy as I frigged my clit.

"Ensign Jaeger, at ease," I greet you. "All is well?" I ask as I take the report from you.

I stand at attention until told the magic words to a soldier. I immediately went to a resting stance. I nod slowly at your question. "Ma'am yes ma'am. Course has been corrected and logged. Our destination is still New York, Ma'am." I stand there, trying to place the smell in the room. It seems familiar, but I can't figure out why or from where.

I sneer. "I know our destination, Ensign." Sometimes I feel bad about the attitude I have to put on, but it's not easy being a woman in the service. I peruse the report.

"Did you check to make sure the instruments are properly calibrated?" I can see from the slackening of your jaw that you haven't. "Well, Ensign, if you haven't made sure the instruments are functioning properly, how do you know that we are on the right course?" I hand the report back. "Calibrate the instruments and redo the report. That is all." I sit behind my desk, watching something on the screen of my computer.

I glare at you, who had the gall to ask me if I calibrated the instruments. When you tell me to go back out and do so, the redo the report, I can feel my jaw working. Instead, I simply salute, and stalk out of the room. Once outside the door, I start swearing. "Those DAMNED instruments don't need to be calibrated. They're DIGITAL. What the FUCK is her problem."

The door is not soundproof, though apparently you think they are, and I hear every word of your frustration. I feel a bit abashed. You didn't deserve that, and I hate doing it. I just... It's as if the fact that I can't approach you as even a friend makes me angry, and it comes out in these little nitpicking things.

I sigh and start on the afternoon's paperwork. You'll be back in an hour, and I need to make sure things are done.

I stalk back to the console, glaring at a crewman who was about to say something. The crewman immediately shuts up, and goes back to her work. I quickly go through the controls on the console. I shake my head, noticing that, as I had said, the controls were perfectly calibrated. Then I rewrote the report, and started back towards your door. The whole process had taken less than fifteen minutes.

I finish the work and sit back, suddenly realizing that in my hurry to dress, I forgot to put on my bra. I quickly grab it and put it on.

My head snaps up and my jaw drops as I hear the door hiss open. My fingers are on my buttons and I'm quite obviously just finishing buttoning my uniform blouse when you enter with the second report.

"That was--uh--prompt," I stammer.

I snap to attention again. "Ma'am yes Ma'am. The report was accurate, as were the readings from the instruments." I set the report down on her desk, then start to leave, before remembering I haven't been dismissed yet. I didn't actually notice that you had been buttoning your blouse.

Glancing at the report, I notice the same smudge that was on there before. Just as I'd suspected.

"Ensign."

I blink, turning to look at her. "Yes, Ma'am?" I wonder if she's found something else wrong with it.

I try to gauge your body language, but then I realize it doesn't matter. I'm in charge, whether I wanted this commission or not.

"Please come here and look at this report, and tell me: Did you rewrite the report from earlier?" My voice is completely neutral in tone. I rest the end of my pen on my bottom lip.

"Ensign, that is the same smudge--the very same--that was on the previous report. How do you account for that?" My color is rising now, though my voice is not. My hazel eyes have turned almost all green--a sure sign that you've earned my ire.

I blink, studying the piece of paper, then pull the previous one out of my pocket, and unfold it, studying it, finding the same smudge. "That is really weird. I never rubbed my fingers against the ink."

I don't know whether to be relieved or upset. In the end, I choose relieved. I was so afraid you'd lied to me. One of the things I like about you is your honesty.

"I'm glad to see that, Ensign Jaeger. I didn't want to reprimand you." It seems that I want to say more, but I suddenly shake my head and instead say, "Thank you. I will see you on the next hour." You wait for the proper command. Perhaps you don't trust me. I wouldn't. "Dismissed."

I nod my head slowly, saluting, and then leave your office. I immediately head for the paper storage section of the sub. One piece of paper with a smudge is an accident. Two is definitely a problem. Once there, I go through several stacks of paper, and find the same smudge on every piece. I close my eyes, thinking, then I press the intercom. "Ma'am, I'm in the storage area. I've looked through about five reams of paper, and they all have the same smudge in the exact same place."

I respond to your hail. "What?! How in the--" You can hear the choice words that I don't say. "I'll be right down."

I hurry out of my office and to the paper storage. ~What the hell is going on, here? Those forms were spotless before.~ I round the corner and see you crouched down, looking through more paper. I can't help but notice your musculature under your uniform, and I find my face warming at the thought of what those muscles could do. ~Damn. I'm going to have to take care of myself again.~

"At ease, Ensign," I greet you before you realize I'm there. "Show me."

I busied myself looking through the forms of paper. I found several more reams with spots in them. I blink, when I hear your voice, and turn around slowly. I stand up, starting to salute, before I noticed your flushed face. Then I finish the salute, and go about checking the room for any leaks.

I walk over to you. "Ensign, I told you to show me what you have found." I glare at you. How dare you ignore me? I find an odd thrill at your seeming disobedience.

I blink, then point to the forms. "Most of them have the same spot. I can't tell where it came from. It's odd that it would be in that one particular place on each set of sheets."

"It is odd," I agree. I bite my bottom lip, considering something. "Well, it will be noted and investigated. I think someone else should do the investigating, though--your duties are too important, and you cannot be spared. Delegate it to a crewman you can spare." I turn to leave. Your manner was not just polite. It was cold. That's bad.

I stop and look at you over my shoulder. "Ensign, please report to me after your shift. I will see you in 92 minutes."

I blink, then salute. "Yes Ma'am." I know I'm going to be disciplined. After you leave, I sigh, and walk back to the bridge. I tell the crew member from earlier to check into it, and then sit down at my station. I close my eyes, sighing again. The ninety-two minutes seem to take forever. Finally, I stand up. I walk to your office, stopping at the entrance to adjust my uniform, before stepping inside, and saluting.

When you arrive, I am composed and nothing is out of place, but you notice the same scent. I am also sitting in the chair at the side of the room, instead of behind my desk. I'm playing nervously with a strand of hair, and I stop quickly as I realize it. ~I hate this sort of thing. I don't want to show emotion, but there has to be empathy. I wonder if men struggle with this.~

I look up at you. "At ease. Sit, please." I indicate the chair in front of the desk.

I blink, smelling that same scent in the air. I still can't place it, but I know I've smelled it before. I see you sitting in a chair at the side of the room, which I find a little odd. I nod slowly as you tell me to sit, and take my place in the chair in front of the desk, looking down at it.
