The *SPOLIER* is for anyone who taped last Sunday's "X Files" and hasn't watched it yet.

So, they killed off the Lone Gunmen -- anyone notice that? I'm sure someone threw up a thread Sunday night that sank faster than the post-Mulder ratings. Anyhoo, it was a nice exit. And I'm looking forward to Mulder's return.

They promise to wrap up all the loose ends this time.

This thread does bring up a question I've had though. Shouldn't Lone Gunmen really be Lone Gunman? I mean, if there's more than one, they wouldn't be lone now would they?

Something to think about next time you're home alone and the cable's out.

Call me a bit sentimental, focus on the mental, but it saddened me that they had to kill off the Gunmen. I was saddened that thier spinoff didn't take off I liked it I would of rather Doggit dying or or that young agent that is like a hyper Mulder.

How did they do it? For some reason I clicked on Fox at the end of the show, everyone standing around 3 graves. Didn't know it was the gunmen. Damn. They had hope. Even if their first show went balls up.

What happened?

As far as the rest of the show goes, since the movie, I haven't cared.

I loved the spin off,watched it till they went away.

But I havent watched X-Files in so long,I didnt know they were on it still.

But is anyone gonna tell how they were killed?

The offing is foreshadowed when the geek with the long hair explains why he sitll wears Joey Ramone T-Shirts -- because Joey never knuckled under to the complacent establishment, and always fought the good fight, no matter what the consequences to himself.

Later the trio are chasing a terrotist who has, essentially, a device inside him that will melt away at 8pm and release a toxic virus into the air that will kill thousands of people. The Gunmen trap him in a hallway, with only two minutes to spare. "There's nothing you can do." says the terrorist.

One Gunman notices a nearby fire alarm, and knows what will happen if he pulls it. He looks to the other Gunmen who nod their assent, saying, "Whatever it takes."

The fire alarm is pulled, and two doors come down, sealing all of them into the hallway. Now the virus won't be able to get out -- but neither can the Gunmen. Through a window they tell their friends to continue "fighting the good fight", placing their hands up against the glass ala Spock's death scene in "Khan" (though I don't think that was intentional).

The terrorist dies as the virus is released from his body -- Fade to Black.

EXT. ARLINGTON CEMETARTY - DAY

Scully and others stand near three white caskets. The FBI has been granted permission to bury the Lone Gunmen in Arlington, which is reserved for American heros.

EPILOGUE

You never actually saw them die, though.

Hmm.
