Are our Brit authors okay and accounted for? Family and friends?

:rose:

Please check in when you can. You're in our thoughts.

Thanks, Sher. :rose:

I just said this in another thread:

London, and the whole of the UK, was on such a high yesterday. :(

This is very close to home, btw. My hubby goes to London often and only last Thursday spent a lot of time traveling on the tube. He, and the rest of his office, are concerned for a few of their collegues. News is sketchy at the mo.

Just ordinary people living ordinary lives. No fucking martyrs here.

Also, my youngest daughter is off school today (she's sick), and we just saw some pictures on the news. She recognised the Edgeware Road tube station, and said we were there (which we were, a while ago). She's sad, but she said that it will all be ok again soon and we can go back. She's only seven and asked why. I tried to explain about the G8 summit (and maybe it's to do with London winning the Olympics? I dunno), and she said that those people are nothing to do with the G8 summit. All I could say was, "I know." :(

Hugs and tears.

Sub Joe? Pops? Gauche? English Lady? Anyone who's name I can't remember right now? My hands are shaking.

I know you don't all live in a cluster in the middle of London, but still. We need to hear from our MIA pornsters.

Oggs, Earl, Mats, Just legal, Sherezad

Oh hell yes. I knew I'd miss half a dozen names if I named any.

I suppose I should be grateful that I haven't become used to the sight of people being carried out of rubble, but it's hard to think straight.

I'm here, present, correct and way, way, way north.

My heart is still breaking for anyone involved down there, anyone with people who commute into London to work.

I'm praying, it's all I can do :rose:

I'm sure I missed some. So many to worry about until we hear from them.

I'm fine, watching the news. My friends and relatives are all okay too.

There were a number of blasts intended to cause maximal disruption to the city, rather than injury. But I suspect that it will emerge that there may be a lot more than the two fatalities currently admitted to.

Personally, I preferred Bob Geldof's way of making a point to the G8 summit.

<grabs EL and Joe, hugs them, grins like an idiot, slaps them for causing us to worry, then makes them sit down and have some soup>

Condolences

My condolences to the londoners who had perished in the senseless bombing by the terrorists

Fucking madness...renders me inept -- I'll be relieved when all Lit UKers are accounted for. Sad, sad days.

*hugs* thanks

good to hear you're ok Joe, and I agree. I prefer Bob's way too.

Glad to know Mat is fine too :rose:

 Big kisses to El, Joe, and Mat.

Keep us posted if anyone hears from anyone else who's unaccounted for. :rose:

The Earl's not in London, so we can probably assume he's safe.
As for the others, can someone ask Mat to check in with them and let us know? I know she's been in contact with a few of us...

Can Mat reach any of the others and text you back? We still haven't heard from Pops (he's been so in and out lately), Eff, Og, JustLegal, Sheherezade, Gauche and others.

Family all ok, still waiting to hear from a Polish friend who was in London today. We travelled as a family on the Circle line last Friday, passing through two of the bomb stations and I travelled Monday morning on the Picadilly line to Heathrow. Brings back memories of the early 70's and the IRA campaign, I was in London with a couple of mates on the night seven bombs went off around Oxford Street and Trafalgar Square. No one was injured that night unlike todays tragedy.

JL and Gauche are yorkshire folk right? so unless we're talking a trip for work or something they're probably ok...

and Sheherazade is in Wales, so like you said, unless she was on a trip, she should be okay.

And Alex de Kok is north of London a good ways.
