This is about posting comments using an iPhone. I log in and write a comment. Not a very long comment but on my phone probably taking about 5 minutes. Then I click on preview and the site takes me back to log in. I log in, again, but the effect is that I lose my comment and have to start from scratch. Just now I’ve rewritten a comment and it’s taken me back to the log in page for a second time. It happens over 50% if the time and it’s really p*****g me off.

It doesn’t log me out of the bulletin board itself only the messages.

I have the same problem with other Apps that I use (not on iPhone, but the principle is the same).

I've learned to write the text I want to add into a notepad first. You can take as long as you like, and when you have everything just write, copy and paste it into the App, and viola :D

I have heard from others that they have had recent weird problems with their phones.

Problems that people have with their sex lives are supposed to just be in the stories Jada. Lol. Sorry. I couldn’t resist that one. My daughter is an ODP in charge of an operating theatre and she’s told me about the various objects that that have had to be removed, mainly from a male orifice. Objects such as bananas, bottles of various shapes and sizes, metallic torches and other things that have become too slippery and can only be removed surgically. I one instance an electric light bulb. Who is crazy enough to do that? Besides they wouldn’t be able to see anything!! As for truth being stranger than fiction, on one occasion they brought a lady in with a mobile phone lodged in her vagina. Presumably she called herself from another phone. Or had a close friend. Perhaps I could work a plot around the stories she’s told me?

I tend to use my phone 99.9% of the time because using my pc is usually not private. What I used to do was take a screenshot of my message so that if it did disappear I was able to write it again but much quicker.

A second thing I’ve just tried is to write about 40+ letters and then preview. Then write another 40+ letters and preview again. It seems that it’s a time out problem. But I’ll try your copy and paste system as well now. The more options the better.

Heh. Ever read the book called "The View From The Vue?" It's about Bellevue hospital. One of the more interesting things I can remember them removing was a pickle fork. Person said they sat on it.

Click on the "Remember Me" button on the right before logging in.

That used to work nicely, but now I’m having this same problem, and the ‘remember me ‘ button is not working, logging out is now frequent and seemingly unavoidable

That happens to me often. I don't like the remember me button either because it keeps me logged in for hours when I'm not here.

I recommend logging out twice, then turning phone off completely. After the phone rests a minute or so, turn it on again. Disable the auto Wi-Fi and data booster for a few minutes as well.

I hope my next phone is not an android, but it is what it is for now.

I have stayed logged in all day on my phone using an incognito browser (more sensitive to changes since it doesn't store anything such as cookies locally). I always click the "Remember Me" button. I have stayed logged in all day even after driving to work and then back home; I have had to manually log out!

A change in the network may cause the session to expire so, some of you could be running into this "feature" when you are on the move. This maybe a security measure on the Lit servers.

For those of you that get logged out often, what browsers do you use if I may ask? And do you move around (more than a block or two) a lot?

There is only one login for both. If you get logged out you get logged out of both.

I use Safari in private mode. I’m usually in the same room and don’t move around a lot even in the the house itself. lol.

I’ll try the remember me button and see if that works.

I will try the same browser/mode and the Preview option in Lit when I get a chance and let you know how it goes.

Here's what I found with both Safari in Private Mode and Firefox Focus (I think the browser matters less than the connection) -

Without checking the "Remember Me?" box: A change in the network parameters or a timeout will log you out of Lit (messaging, BB, everything).

Checking the "Remember Me?" box will keep you logged in even if some network parameters change. None of the following reasons that cause a change in the network parameters will force a logout. However, there maybe some other network parameter changes that can force a session to close (resulting in a logout, for security reasons) even with the "Remember Me?" box checked, although I haven't come across this situation yet.

Network parameters:
- A weak signal in some areas of the house causing a reconnect of your phone to WiFi can cause a change in network parameters.
- A change in your Internet connection's security parameters (depending on how your phone/router connects to the network) qualifies as a more significant change in network parameters.
- A poor Internet connection can cause flapping resulting in a change in the connection parameters.
- There maybe other reasons.

Try this. Don't log in to the forum. Log in to the stories site, then move to the forum. These two ways of logging in behave quite differently. One is very keen to log you out, the other isn't. It's one of the many quirky 'features' of this place.
