Just home from a trip in the High Sierra. Here are a few photos from one of the peaks we climbed while there.

The mountains were kind, blessing us with warm clear weather with a mild breeze.

Headed North

Up through the noth at the horizon was the pass that would allow us to reach the summit.

Enjoying the greenery

Soon, the landscape would resemble the moon. Enjoying the green while it lasts....

Above treeline

Headed to the cliffband, and headed left thru a narrow gully.

Nearing summit

Looking northeast, out over the sierra. Below, a couple thousand feet lay a large glacier with numerous turquoise lakes.

Looking down the ridge

The snowpack on the north face is seen clearly here.

The descent

Looking back up, after negotiating the pass. The sun heading to the west, the light changes the look of the cliff band.

It seems the weather gods smiled upon both of us this past weekend of adventure! The Alps were also blessed with warm days, high sun and sweet-scented grass to soak into... We are bound by the sharing of mountains now, no?
