Local conservative talk show host dumbo thinks Russian leaders are still Commies

Some "mainline" conservatives are as mornically stupid (or more so) than many liberals.

One particularly ignorant loud mouth host on a local call in show today claimed Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov as well as President Putin are "unreconstructed Communists." Say what??? This is a Trump supporter on most issues BTW, but completely ignorant on today's Russia.

Both Lavrov and Putin are members of the United Russia party which is anti-Communist and has battled against the resurgence of the Communists for many years. The Party describes itself as "Russian Conservative" in philosophy. While it does support a mixed economy, nearly every one of our "capitalist allies" in western Europe, Canada, and Australia, have mixed economies with some government ownership of certain industries.

President Putin has lowered tax rates, pushed through a flat tax, and promoted a business friendly climate that makes the US look like a socialist dictatorship in comparison.

To claim that Russia or its current leadership are "Communist" is simply ignorant if not an outright lie.

It is my experience that most, not all, but most right wing people do not have an understanding of communism. They simply throw the word out there and use it as if it means "you're a person who disagrees with me".

Since the breakup of the USSR it seems to me that "liberalism" falls into the same category.

Since the breakup of the USSR it seems to me that "liberalism" falls into the same category.

That's because most socialist like to pretend that socialism is liberalism and most of the right is too ignorant to correct the dipshits.
