It is a hot summer night in Bay City, on the west coast of Argo. The silver towers of the downtown core shimmer in the heat, and tensions are high all along the freeway, sprawling for miles around the city. Nights like this, the heat makes people crazy, and fights are breaking out in the dim alleyways of every ethnic slum in the city. The police are stretched to the breaking point. Sirens cut the damp night air and Bay City's citizens lean out their apartment windows, or stare through the glass of their skyscraper offices, and wonder what's happening down there now.

Across the bay, in the industrial district, a tanker ship is just pulling in to harbor. Soldiers stand on the dock, weapons at the ready, staring out over the glassy water and wiping the sweat from their faces. Two helicopters circle overhead.

The tanker is a military salvage vessel, unloading a shipment of recovered Loa blood from nearby Dracon Island.

Damien Stood ont he bridge of the tanker and looked over to the harbor. "Bay City, this is tanker wiskey bravo 553, request premissions to pull in?" Damien waited for the dack masters replie. "Tanker WB553, this is Bay City Dock master you are clear for dock 7, guards are on stand by also." Damien flexed his wings slightly, ever snice the explosion on Dracon he had been working on this tanker, making sure the same thing didn't happen in Bay City. "Roger that Dock master see ya'll in 20 minutes over."

Damien looked over to the ships captian and noded.

Slowly the Tanker moved into the bay.....

Kryna Ennairy

Kryna sat in a chair at the window of her hotel room, binoculars in hand. She'd found the perfect room, overlooking the docks and high enough so she had an unobstructed view. She'd been laying low since she fenced the other merchandise from her last job.

She was still beating heself up over screwing up the job, and she missed her brother. They had started the stealing/smuggling business after their parents had died when she was she was 15. He'd never let her down, but she had failed miserable on that last job.

Not knowing what else to do she had been watching the docks for a shipment that looked interesting, and lucrative. Tonight she saw something that certainly looked interesting. She watched the armed guards on the dock and looked across the bay at the tanker comming in. "Now what could be so important to need all that security," she wondered aloud.

The tanker grinds to a halt beside the docks, and the workers begin unloading the tanks of Loa Blood. They are each the size and shape of a tank of barbecue propane, but the red biohazard sign on their sides marks them as being far more dangerous. There are only 12 of the small tanks loaded off the tanker, the rest of the shipment being made up of scientific equipment salvaged from the Draconian facility's wreckage. Only 12 tanks, but each one is worth more than a truckload of plutonium, or a boat full of cocaine.

Then suddenly, one of the two helicopters circling the dock explodes, shattering the calm surface of the bay. The orange fireball rains burning debris down on the soldiers guarding the 12 precious, dangerous tanks.

Damien walked outside as the tanker pulled it, his wings now streched fully out, he looked down to see the guards start to unload the tanks from the boat.

Damien smiles "so far so good" he says to himself it was just at the monment that one of the helicopters circling over head explodes, now falling down on the boat, Damien did the only thing he could think of, he jumped overboard.

bringing his head above water Damien saw that the guards had did the same thing, now all Damien had to figure out was what casuse the helicopter to explode......

She focuses her binoculars on the tanks being unloaded from the ship and can just make out the red biohazard label on each of them. Keeping her eyes glued to the activity below she blindly reaches out and grabs her bag of “toys” thinking that this might be a shipment she’s interested in.

When one of the helicopters explodes she runs out of the room, and flies down the hall. This was just the chance she’s been waiting for. With the helicopter exploding there was going to be lots of confusion on the docks, and confusion meant that she might be able to slip in and out with something valuable. When she gets to the street she finds herself wishing she had longer legs so she could run faster. A few steps later she has grown to six feet tall and is racing to the docks. All that time she spent concentrating and testing her powers while waiting around in her hotel room paid off.

She slows down when she gets close to the outer ring of security. Not wanting to be seen easily she concentrates again and shrinks down to 4 ½ feet and begins slipping between cargo containers and looking for a warehouse with an unlocked door

Fate seems to be on Kryna's side tonight. Just as she nears the outer ring of security, another explosion takes out the main gates to the dockyard. Seconds later, four figures on souped-up moteorcycles race in through the burning gates. Their motorcycles, helmets, and body armour are painted dark yellow and black. Kryna's been traveling in the wrong circles long enough to recognize the colours of the Killer Bees, one of Argo's most notorious gangs.

As Damien pulls himself out of the water, the second helicopter explodes. The dockyard is a firestorm of heat, noise and running men. The few soldiers who didn't jump off the dock are running towrds the front gates, and Damien hears gunshots coming from that direction.

But he also sees the trail of smoke rising from a speedboat out in the bay. By the blazing firelight, Damien can even make out the figure on the deck with the rocket launcher . . .

Spotting four of the Killer Bees Kryna knows that tonight is her lucky night. The gang will be blamed for anything she takes, if she can only get out without being spotted. She ducks into a warehouse and starts looking for the right merchandise, something small enough to carry, at least as far as a vehicle. Finding a security guard’s jacket by the door she puts it on, growing so it fits her. She runs quickly to the other side of the warehouse which opens up to the part of the docks with the most action. The gigantic steel door was still locked but she could peek out a window check on what was going on. One of the tanks with the biohazard label was close enough for her to read what it was.

Loa….Oh my god! The Killer Bees were trying to steal Loa Blood. The thought of the ruthless and notorious gang with that much Loa made her blood run cold. The last thing she wanted right now was anything more to do with Loa Blood. The though of the ruthless and notorious gang with even one of those tanks made her blood run cold. She forgot all about trying to steal anything. It wasn’t her habit to do anything for altruistic reasons, especially anything as suicidal as interfereing with the Killer Bees. But she stayed by the warehouse window watching, if the opportunity to keep the Killer Bees from getting any Loa presented itself and she didn’t think she would get caught she’d do it. Well, if it came before she could safely get away she would.

Two of the Killer Bee bikers drove around the periphery of the dock, chasing soldiers into the water, or just shooting them. The few remaining soldiers were firing their rifles, but the two bikers were moving too fast to hit.

The other two stopped by the tanks of Loa blood. While one of them kept an eye out with his Uzi, the other began strapping tanks to the back of his bike.

Watching one of the Killer Bees straping a tank of Loa to his bike only a few feet away from her hiding place nearly sent her into a panic. She started looking around for anything that might stop them, there had to be something, but short of creating some kind of explosion which would kill them all, there wasn't anything she could do on her own. Damn! She missed her brother. One other person and she might be able to stop the bike as it left.

Dex had been at the docks to record and properly document the incoming shipment of Loa. His advanced camera with a specialized Reva Zoom lens allowed him to get great shots of the identifying marks of the ship pulling alongside the harbor to dock. It allowed him to get photographs of the containers housing the invaluable and revered Loa. The camera even allowed him to catch a detailed shot of something large and winged on the bow of the ship.

His camera was left dangling from the strap around his neck, however, when the helicopter exploded.

He blinked, and the image was stored in his mind. Quickly, he brought the camera back up to his eyes and moved his field of vision around. His finger touched a button and the view changed to allow him to see heat signatures. He also hit record, the feed being burned to mini cd inside the camera.

The rocket's heat was all too crystal clear in his viewfinder. The explosions were so very bright, but his eyes didn't need to blink or squint to filter the light. Each image was stored in his mind, the chaos, the men on motorcycles, guards dying, the smirk of the man on the boat with the smoking rocket tube.

"I've got to do something! But what?," he asked himself as he stood upon a crate, surveying the carnage.

Kryna looks desperately around the warehouse building she was in. Then she spotted a control panel. It was locked, but it seemed to control all the electronics for the entire dock. All the lights, loudspeakers, firehoses, and cranes could be operated from this one station.

Damien looks up at the man on the one of the boats and shakes his head "what the hell do these people want with the Loa Blood" he asked hisself as he jumps onto the Dock.

Running at full speed, Damien jumps and takes flight, flying hios fastest, Damien knocks the guy with the rocket launcher down and lands on top of him. the guy looks up and smiles, then stabs Damien in the side with a knife.

Damien pulls back off the guy screaming in pain.as he pulls the knife out he falls into the water just in time to see the guy speeding away..

Damien's eye begin to go blurly as his blood pours from him, the last thing Damien sees is a young girl in his vision, he then blacks out.....

She fishes her lock picks out of her bag and has the control panel open in a matter of seconds. Scanning through all the controls she finds a section that operates a crane right next to the warehouse. She fires up the crane, thankful that it has a hook attachment on it. After bumbling around a few minutes and nearly slamming the hook into the side of the warehouse a few times, she begins to get the hang of it.

Maneuvering the hook awkwardly, she moves it so it’s above one of the large cargo containers she passed on her way to the warehouse. On the third try she manages to hook one of the bars used to lock the container doors. So far with all the confusion and explosions no one on the dock had noticed the crane being used, when she half lifted, half dragged the container across the pavement, slamming it into another container that changed. Everyone noticed. She continued dragging the container with 4 other containers being pushed along in front of it. When all 5 containers were placed so they blocked the entire entrance to the docks she stopped. Now at least the Killer Bees couldn’t go anywhere with the Loa Blood.

She couldn’t get the container off the hook so she shut down the crane. Keeping an eye one the action she saw one of the gang members pointing to the crane and giving instructions to another member, and decided she’d done her good deed of the day. She quickly re-locked the panel and had just enough time to hide behind some crates when one of the Killer Bees reached the window she had been looking out.

Dex was watching the progress of one the Killer Bees on bikes zipping across the docks when he heard the very loud sound of the container being dragged along the ground. He watched for a minute.

"Hmm, looks like someone just made a B-line to cut off the Bee's..."

Switching the camera back to normal mode he tried to zoom on the crane's controls. By the time he got the resolution right, all he saw was the form of a girl leaving. He decided to make his way toward her, maybe they could help eachother.

Dex was creeping along toward the warehouse, trying to keep a low profile when he heard the high pitched sound of a motorcycle racing toward him... directly toward him. All he could do at that moment was throw his hands up in front of his face and brace himself.

And then there was a bright flash.

Kryna Ennairy

She shrunk to her smallest size and stayed behind the crates and out of the view of the windows. When she heard the giant warehouse door being opened by one of the Bees she started moving silently between the crates towards the other end of the warehouse.

Suddenly one of the windows up ahead of her lit up with a bright flash. Realizing that the fighting had reached the other side and she wouldn't be able to get out that way she started looking around for a better place to hide and for something she could use as a weapon.

She could hear the Bee stupidly trying to pry the control panel open by force and nearly laughed out loud at his lack of finesse.

Deciding that moving up higher where she would have a better view of the warehouse and anyone in it, she grew back to her 6ft and deftly climbed up a large stack of crates in one corner.

From her new vantage point she could see that there was a 2nd floor with some kind of offices above the control panel. If she could get over there she might be able to plug her mini-computer into the system and overide the downstairs control panel.

One of the bikers speeds towards Dex, raising his Uzi as he approaches the grey-haired man. Dex throws up his hands, and a bright burst of light flashes in front of him. Stunned, the Killer Bee loses control of his motorcycle. He swerves, and flies head first into the side of the warehouse. The bike keeps going, crashing into a stack of empty oil barrels. The biker in unconscious.

Meanwhile, the gang member loading the Loa canisters onto the bikes has got 6 of the small tanks onto two of the bikes. The third Killer Bee is still patroling the area, on the lookout for security.

Inside the warehouse, the last of the gang members gives up his futile struggle with the locked control panel. He pulls a small, powerful flashlight from his belt and begins peering around the warehose. Up on the second floor, Kryna is safe, for now.

Dex opens one eye experimentally, his face still mostly shielded by his hands. Everything seems okay, so he opens his other eye and lowers his arms. Turning, he sees the wrecked bike and knocked out rider. "Whoa...," he thinks.

He mentally shakes himself to move again and dashes over to the warehouse. With his back against the wall, he looks this way and that, wondering where that woman might have gotten to.

She starts moving across the tops of the stacks of crates, using every skill she's developed in her years as a thief. She keeps one eye on the Bee below her and focus on not making any noise as she moves towards the offices at the other end.

With only one close call she makes it to the offices and picks the lock of the office above the control panel. Closing the door silently behind her she finds the Jack for the computer connection and takes it off the wall. Using her pen light she finds the wiring that connects to the control panel. After cutting the plastic covering on the wires she connects she cuts the wire and splices a small electronic gadget into the wire. She pulls out her mini-computer and enters a series of commands. She checks to make sure her by-pass is working and sending signals to her mini-computer by using the computer to fire up the second crane on the other side of the warehouse.

Moving quickly she replaces the cover on the wall jack, eases open the office door and checks the whereabouts of the Bee down below. The fool was still looking for her on the ground.

She makes her way back across the warehouse, keeping to the tops of the crates and slips out the door she came in. Intending to loose herself in the sea of cargo containers before beginning to play tricks with the floodlights and the 2nd crane.

Dex spots the door of the warehouse opening and his mind captures the image of Kryna slipping through it. He edges closer to her along the wall, staying as flat as possible.

"Hey," he whispers harshly, "over here. We need to talk!"

He moves closer, but slowly.

"Hey, over here. We need to talk!"

She freezes as soon as she hears someone whispering to her. With adrenalin pumping from the fear that she'd been caught. She sees what she thinks is an old, gray haired man moving slowly towards her. Having no weapon but her mini-computer turned control panel she keeps it in her hand ready to use it to create a distraction if the new man is a threat.

Even in the dim light she can see that he is not wearing the typical yellow and black of the bees, but she still moves cautiously.

"I don't think this is a good place to hold a conversation Mister" she says.

"Me either, so we should find one quickly, but we must try and find the Blood, and soon. The Bees may have a backup plan to escape by watercraft."

Dex looks at her grimly, blinking to capture her likeness in the small amount of light. He then darts out toward the out of commission Bee, stopping midway to make sure she's following.

He kneels down to rifle through the belongings that the Bee has on him, looking back again to focus on her.

In the dim light she can't see his face well, but she quickly re-estimates his age, he doesn't move like an old man. Realizing that like her, he is trying to stop the bees she follows him to the incapacitated man and whispers to him as he looks through the Bee's possesions.

"Half of the Loa Blood is strapped to a bike on the other side of the warehouse, I can take care of that if I can get to where I can see it," she says thinking of the other crane. "It's the other 6 tanks we have to worry about

The unconscious Killer Bee's body armour holds a small sidearm (in addition to the Uzi), large knife, 2 explosive grenades and 2 smoke grenades, flashlight, lockpicks (not as good as Kryna's), and handcuffs. Removing his helmet reveals an man in his early twenties, with short-cropped dark silver hair. Built into the helmet are a 2-way radio and night-vision goggles.

"Hmm... the crane eh? Ah yeah, you blocked the entrance. Risky move but at least they can't race out of here on these superbikes."

He pauses for a moment as he arrays the said items upon the ground and carefully picks up the thug's Uzi.

"Maybe this could be of help. I'm no gunman though. What kind of plan do you have in mind? I could probably provide a distraction if you need me to."

As he says this he replays the incident of him being run down back in his mind. That flash... could he reproduce that at will?
