1. CEO
It was the first day of Lizzie's internship at Choate Hall and Steward. Lizzy was a second-year graduate student at Boston College Law school. She took a fortifying breath before walking into the office, preparing for what she might find there. When she entered, it took her a moment to take in all of her surroundings. The room gave off an air of old english elegance, with dark wood for the walls and doors, and high ceilings to complete the look. The finery was a bit imtimidating, but she fought her nerves. lizzy walked to the receptionist, explaining that it was her first day and that she was looking for her boss. The woman pointed towards her to her office. The nameplate on the door read Myavi Onasaki. Lizzy sat outside in the waiting area. She looked out of the windows at the Charles River, far below the offices on the top floor of the high building. She heard the door open and sat down again.
"Hello, my name is Myavi Nakoudo. You must be Lizzie Bloom. Your uncle gave us good references, and we need you to work as soon as possible. You will be researching a case for a smaller client of ours. He's new and started up a PR firm several months ago. He's looking at us to handle the more routine legal issues, so this would be good practice for you. His name is William Darcy."
Lizzy flushed. She knew a William from her hometown of Wellesley Mass. Lizzy and William had grown up as neighbors and close friends, despite their four-year age difference. William had protected her from bullies and kept her sane when her mother ignored her. In return, Lizzie loved William for who he was, regardless of his bad boy attitude and ways, never viewing him as less than a hero. Young Lizzy had been crushed when William left her behind when he went to college, and has been harboring strong feelings for him since.
"Lizzy? Are you all right?" asked Myavi. "Perhaps you should sit down. I'll show you to where you'll be working. I've left you some briefings to read about Mr. Darcy's business. Let me go get a glass of water for you." Lizzy sat down. Lizzy's office was small, but more than she really needed. A brand new computer on an oak desk, the window overlooking the Charles River.
