Today it has been trying to get cold enough to snow: ie, for this part of Australia it's been almost as miserable as it can get - temp just above freezing, rain and biting cold wind.
I live with five cats and a small short haired terrier (like a rat terrier).
So where have they been today?
Patch (the terrier) has been glued to the heater; Juliet (the Burmese) curled up in bed and hasn't moved all day; Harry, the long haired terminally stupid kitten/cat (he's only 6-7months old so he still has an excuse) has been alternately outside in the rain and inside, in my face, on the keyboard and hassling any other living creature he can find. He can't help it. Billy, the other kitten/cat (found abandoned at the same time and place as Harry, thought to be a brother, but of very different look and attitude), curled up near the heater, or snuggled with the dog.
That leaves Pantene and Randall. Both came in less than an hour ago (it is now dark). They were wet, fluffed up cold and demanding of serious loving attention. Just so they could get their chosen human muddy and wet.

I love cats.

My cat doesn't like the rain, and gets angry at us when we open the door to let him out and it is wet outside. He then starts biting and clawing at us as if we can turn off the wetworks. So we end up tossing him outside anyway.

I hate cats...in my garden. The only animal allowed to kill birds in my garden is the Sparrow Hawk...He's awesome

I watched one of my youngsters-- barely more than a kitten-- look up at the red-tailed hawk that was sitting above my yard-- and making that chattering noise that cats do when they see prey. The cat was hardly as big as the bird's head!

These cats don't mind rain and wet very much, and when it's wet they run in and out of the open kitchen door, tracking mud with them. I got a mat to put inside that door. The first cat that encountered it took one deeply suspicious look, and jumped neatly over the whole thing, landing-- muddy paws and all-- on the other side of it.

She sounds just like my Burmese, Jasmine!! The lazy creature never moves off the beds all day then wakes up when we all come home. She demands attention all evening, plonking herself on my lap the second I sit down, and pesters me to death. But I love her to bits.

I love cats - they're a cheap home entertainment system! I'm down to one right now, a rather old gal of 15 who's quite plump. Since it's quite hot here (close to 90F today) she spends most of her day in the cool of the basement. Smart kitty!

LOLOL

My wife and I went out to do some shopping earlier. It was hot and it was humid. We got home a couple of hours later and found the trailer to be warmer than we expected. It didn't take us long to figure out the problem. The cats had finally figured out where the nice cool air was coming from and were laying on the Air Vents. They were nice and cool while the trailer was hot.
