my question is this: what is the best way to go about it (we want an audiance). would it be to use say msn or yahoo and just open up the webcam to anyone who wants to see it and allow anyone to add themselvs to the contact list and view webam?

Yahoo seems to work pretty good. We had 31 viewers last weekend.
We do it 2-3x a week. Sorry the shows have been lame lately. Kevin has been working long shifts at work. They will get better. This weekend we will have a good one hopefully. We love having all the people watch. The only problem is that everyone keeps typing and windows pop up in front of the cam view window so it gets distracting minimizing windows all night while we're performing. There is a setting I think to have the windows minimize. Guys get especially excited and it's funny. Yahoo works better than MSN for this, as with MSN you can only have one viewer at a time. If you want to give a mass show, then Yahoo is your best bet.

However, you could always link your webcam through a website, and have as many people watch it as you want (whoever you give the address too) however this is more complicated, and requires a lot more work (and I can't explain it right now, as I'm rather drunk)

Yahoo works, it's easy and a lot of people have it.

think the best bet is yahoo, as people have said easy to set up and many can view. keep me posted on this if you do decide to go ahead, would love to watch if thats ok

I will advertise closer to the time when i know i'm going to do it (probably not for a couple of weeks).

cinnamonstick: i think that people have to pay for a webcamnow account to get the high quality video and i don't want to make people pay.

tolyk: the techie in me is interested in setting something like this up. but i can see it being a lot of work for something that can be done easier with yahoo at a quality that is desierable.

Yahoo will suit you pretty well, I think... my suggestion is your gather your viewers here on Lit... that way you can check them out before inviting them... of course I'd be happy to get on that list

tolyk: the techie in me is interested in setting something like this up. but i can see it being a lot of work for something that can be done easier with yahoo at a quality that is desierable.

You could find all the info you need about it online, just do a quick search for setting up live video feed.

for this though, Yahoo is probably faster, especially depending on where you would host yourself, your bandwidth limits, etc.. Once you have multiple viewers on Yahoo cam you lose the high speed and it will transmit the same for everyone. (that is if you have high speed, otherwise, it will be incredibly slow for everyone anyways)

you could allow open viewing or you could password protect it
as well as setting ratings on what the content was so people would not
be surprised when they openned it and saw you nude or having sex
