I've never been on a paid webcam chat site, so i wouldn't know. The only chat site I have ever been was Lit, and there you can find every kind. For some people it is just like RL, where you have to somehow approach them, talk about the weather, play the flirting game; but you also hear a lot of "Nice shoes. Wanna fuck?"

I suspect that for paid sites, the latter example might work a lot more often.

That said, a lot of them are under umbrellas for small (or big for that matter) porn businesses. You can tell because they almost all chat in the same way, like they're following scripts they've been rehearsed in.

Sometimes, however, you'll find people who are really playing about in chat for themselves and they'll be a bit more open both in how they respond to you as well as in what they talk about. That's rare however.

If you're looking for actual chatting, you're better off going into a text-only place like Lit or frequenting some of the user made rooms in a chat on Yahoo, MSN, or even AOL. (AOL you tend to have to be very circumspect about what you say in public, however, saving the real porn for private messages.)

I've always been more partial with not paying, just hanging out in chat and talking to actual people--as opposed to actors--until you find someone, or several someones, you want to take into PMs or a conference and "chat" in a more in-depth manner. <g>
