I was messing around and installed this app. The G1 phone can be set to activate the gps tracker on powerup as well as with an sms message and it will run in the background. Locate your phone, mine's showing a gps position accuracy in my living room of 19 feet.

Could also track litsters as they wander around the planet, the website lets you feed the data out to facebook, etc..

If you are a parent I suppose that you could track kids or track a wife/gf... could be handy.

Could track a subbie or a dom/me too.

Here you go, you can now stalk me properly!!! Via a web browser on your computer or even on your web enabled mobile phone. You have to refresh the page for it to update.

Now this is how it works.

There are three ways to share your location:

I use BrightKite and Google Latitude. The latter was just announced a few days ago and I love it so far.

I looked at lattitude but the required maps v3.0 software upgrade that it requires is still pending rollout on the google g1 phone. The fuckers.

It's true, lots of people are complaining about it. I'm attempting to manually install the new software version on the phone.

Hmm, Instamapper isn't picking up my phone's GPS or something. I let it try for 5 mins then gave up, then tried again for 15 mins and still nothing. Google Maps picks me up right away, so it's not the GPS. Odd!
