I know, another Halloween movie thread, but in a different vein. This one features horror movies that you really thought would be cheesy suck fests, but were surprisingly good.

For starters The Original Night of The Demons.

Low budget, no name cast (Does have scream queen Linea Quiggly in it though) and starts out like its really going to blow

But it was creepy as all hell. The house was awesome, the soundtrack was good-especially Angela's possession to the Mistfits-and despite bad acting it was full of some great jumps and scares and I loved the little wrap around story about the old guy looking to poison trick or treaters

The Dance

The first Evil Dead. It did blow up and gain a huge cult following which led to a pretty good remake recently. But this was a hundred k budget and turned out damn creepy and....Bruce Campbell! A

The scene that freaked me out when I first seen it when I was 12

Jesus Christ my father let me watch this as a kid. I had terribly neglectful parents.

We watched it in the darkened living room. Most of my childhood died that evening.

Old school Night of the Comet was fun.

And yeah, any Buce Campbell delivers. Was he in Bubba Hotep?

ETA: he was.
