I just happened to be checking out a few of the threads here and I saw where a coupla nice ladies were saying hi and then were told by the moderator that, "This is what PM's were for." It's not often my chin hits the floor and I have to tell you I'm still tending the carpet burns I received after that moderators post. Personally if "LiT" wants people to PM each other I'd suggest they get a system for PMing that is a heck of a lot better than the lame ass messaging system that is provided here. It sucks and being told that a simple hi to another poster should be reserved for PM's is a joke and I feel unwarranted. So, to each and everyone of you I offer a big Hello and if that is found to be offensive and in need of moderation then do so.

Maybe it's her first time moderating and she's a little excited.

I hope.

Moderating what? Two letters? The word hi? I am sure there are plenty of things that are much more deserving of moderation. It might do her well to go read one of those free speech links at teh top of each page.

I agree, I hope this is a matter that is easily set right. It seems pretty apparent that heavy handed moderation will not be well received.

Hi PET! Nice to meet you. Luckily I think the people on this forum will make up for any disenchantment I may be feeling at this time.
And may I say....beautiful breasts hun...*drools*

Just popping in to say hello before I go to bed. I'm a sleepy girl and I've been ordered to bed by my girl. Have a wonderful evening, everyone.

Hi SweetCherry, nice to meet you. I hope you have a wonderful evening as well.

Hi all, I'm the moderator you're so mad at about that thread. First, I have no control over the PM system at Lit. I'm sorry you feel it sucks. But more importantly, while I am trying not to be drunk with power, I am also interested in keeping posts on topic. This is not the GB. The posts in question really did not warrant an entire thread - it was exactly what PMs are for, personal communication between two users. This thread is totally different. It's a greeting and welcoming thread. Yes, this is my first time moderating, but I also know what I want this forum to be like. If I have to, I'll ask Laurel for a sub-forum, like BDSM Talk has the BDSM Cafe, and I'll just move unrelated posts there. That's fine with me, if that's what everybody else wants. But I really am serious about keeping the fluff to a minimum. I'm not trying to rule with an iron fist here, but I would also appreciate some respect for the tough volunteer job I've signed up for.

not meaning to be offensive, but GET REAL as many of us have expressed in the thread "Hold the phone". after all a moderator should not only be there to watch over the rules, but also to listen to what the forum needs. the forum is the posters.

edited to say: i was positively surprised when i saw this new forum, but stuff like your "no-fluff" is just putting me off. im sure im not the only one.

I read this thread before I read that one. That's the order in which they were when I saw them. And not meaning to be offensive, but GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. Okay? I'm dancing just as fast as I can. And as was mentioned in that other thread, nobody ever said I couldn't be flexible.

I do hope you heed what some of us have remarked on. One persons idea of fluff is not necessarily the same as anothers. It is easy to say that is what a pm is for, but what if someone has pm's turned off? Should one just post anywhere and hope the "hello" is seen? I think most would go ahead and just post a thread knowing that that would be seen. I have no idea what the case was in the particular thread....maybe before jumping to a conclusion as to what may or may not be fluff...give the thread a little time, see how it evolves. One never knows what may happen. I say sit back..relax, and moderate when moderation is necessary. Oh and btw Etoile...hi, and nice to meet you. Not exactly a great start for us, but I do speak my mind most of the time and sometimes I step on toes because I was too focused on one thing instead of looking at the big picture. Good luck with your moderation and I hope it only gets easier from here.

Try and remain cool E, maybe take a step back, chill, and think before you leap. From what I see, the majority are still not in favour of separatism on the BDSM forum and did not, and do not ,see a reason to seperate fluff from serious or whatever....abuse is another issue. Also have noted the 'serious' BDSM forum is happily building up their fluff threads again, so far without interference which will hopefully continue. Would be nice to see the ever popular 'Word Assoc', thread started by SV returned to it's former position where she and others wished it to remain before she left Literotica in disgust.

So my advice would be not to repeat the hasty mistakes of other forums in an effort to be liked by all....is impossible for everyone to like any one person.

Catalina
