retake LOL
sorry about that

Hey Everybody!

I don't post on this board often but it seemed like the best place for this thread.

Spending most of my time on the SRP forum it seems that there is an imbalance of Male writers to Female writers.

Now I am sure this is not the case but I thought it would be an idea to get a feel because so many threads seem to die through lack of Horny Guys writing

Given that the internet is supposed to be male dominated this seemed a little strange.

So I put this poll together along with this thread for comments and feedback.

Sorry about the confusion :( <having a blonde day>

please ignore the other thread :)

Do you prefer Read Stories? As opposed to ... what?
Do You Prefer Take Part in Stories? What part are you offering?
Are you A Guy ? Yes, I am.
Are You A Gal ? No, I'm not.
Do you Post in The SRP Forum ? No.
Do You Post in The Playground Forum ? No.
Do You Post in The Personals Forum ? No.
Do You Post in The General Forum ? Yes.

I'm a horny guy. I don't read much of stories. I just come here out of habit.

I love to write, read, draw, play guitar, sing, dance and all that stuff.

What I really should be doing is my playwriting. Theatre is the shit.

I, uh, picked them all.

I don't SRP because it's a waste of writing time and the StudMuffin says no.

Census

Do you prefer Read Stories? - Again, I'd prefer an orgy but stories are nice.
Do You Prefer Take Part in Stories? -Sure. Do I get to become a literary character?
Are you A Guy ? -Never proven.
Are You A Gal ? -Apparently not according to court filings.
Do you Post in The SRP Forum ? -Is there a special prize?
Do You Post in The Playground Forum ? -Sure.
Do You Post in The Personals Forum ? Have.
Do You Post in The General Forum ? Generally affirmative.

I feel the need to clarify. The writing I do in the SRP is okay practice, but I get more mileage out of journaling. It doesn't really qualify as an effective story because I'm not writing a story, just a small portion.

I'll ORP on occassion, but I always forget I'm doing it and ruin the thread.

KillerMuffin,

That's ok you didn't need to clarify, I was just interested in the proportion of women writing in SRP's compared to the men. and the general make up of Lit and were people post.

not easy to do with the poll options, I'm curious as to why the guys don't seem so keen to write in SRP's (really I'm on a recruiting drive LOL) -

Hamlet - thats an ironic name :) thanks for stopping by.

Why so is Theater, S***.

I am fortunate enough to live near Startford in England and have seen many of Shakespeare's plays and believe me the experience is awesome.

To actually watch World class actors 20 feet away, performing live is awesome :)

Who wants to go see people have fake conversations?

I have them all the time in my head. :)

What is a fake convo, anyway?

Do you prefer Read Stories? I'm guessing this means "Do you like to read erotic stories?"

Do You Prefer Take Part in Stories ? Not sure if this means writing stories or role playing or casting yourself as a character in your stories.

I hate to sound insulting, but use prepositions. You're in England.

A simulation of a conversation. People pretending to be someone they're not, saying things they don't really mean.

Well, that is what theatre is for. In part.

Dishonesty is one thing.
Acting a role is another.

I'm sorry Mecca, I'm just a peasant New Englander and was never taught proper English.

Actually I realised I had missed the tos out but since I'm not a moderator I can't edit the polls.

By the way, I thought grammatically commas before buts were a no no.

I meant do you prefer to Read Stories

and

Do you prefer to Write Stories, that could be either a story or novel or a role play part.

No, it's just one of the things theatre can be. Unfortunately, it's the only thing most people know.

Let me take a crack at this SM.

There's obvioulsy plenty of male writers on the boards. And I'm sure that the SRP forum has many different themes running so the lack of interesting material probably isn't the reason.

And I have to admit that I haven't read any of the threads in that forum. I'll make that disclosure right off the bat.

My guess is attention span. We males seem to be poor at the protracted tease and flirtations that the fairer sex seems to thrive on. While we can be good at it for short periods of time, eventualy we get bored.

I've seen many of those type of threads and they go on forever. Speaking for myself, my interest would wane and I'd be either out of the thread or contibuting less than my best after some period of time.

Just my take SM.

You talkin' 'bout me? heh..

Be a pal, Hammy. Be a pal. This is more precious than any of us could ever ask.

'Sokay. I always thought that before a "but" introducing a long phrase was a good place for commas but then again, I could be wrong.

Do you prefer Read Stories? Yes.
Do You Prefer Take Part in Stories? Yes.
Are you A Guy ? Yes

Do You Post in The Story Ideas Forum ? I have.

Yeah, well, it's my job to take the toys away from the kids.

Sorry. Got carried away, mon frere. :)
