.xxx is the new top level domain for porn sites opened just now by ICANN. It's open on voluntary basis for all adult sites.

Advantges that I can see might be a little looser rein on the whole issue of internet decency that is blooming. If a site migrates to the xxx domain it is easier than ever to filter out access for those who wishes to keep it away from children, and there will be no accusatins of trying to lure visitors$ in under false pretense. Which I find to be a ridiculous accusation in the first place (flaunting filth draws enough visitors as it is), but I've heard it too many times to understand that enough bozos actuallty are afraid of that.

What do you think? Is this a good thing? Sould Lit more over to .xxx?

The host I use for the half dozen domains I manage (DomainAvenue.com) doesn't even have the "xxx" extension listed as an option yet.

Takes a few days to get the logistics up and running I guess. I've seen some places that lets you pre book a xxx domain, but no note on when you would actually get it..

I think it's a damn good idea, Liar, for the reasons you stated in the poll.

But I do think there's a lot of political BS behind it, even so.... the libraries here in town have no problem blocking .com sites, and I think diligent folk will have no problem dealing with whatever system using present software.

A lot of the problem is with people who want to protect others from supposed damage by keeping them from some vague and unknown "evil" they denounce with name-calling.

But, for most people, "pornography" ranks right up there with killing babies for fun and profit on the scale of evil, I think it's probably best for all if we accept a label .... to protect ourselves.

so the internet's been dirty all along! :p

I think it's a cool idea, but i'd prefere if Literotica just stay where it is. I don't like change. (anyway, we've had enough of that around here)

I have dibs on Republican.xxx :D

Considering the kind of scandals republicans are known for, what do you plan to have? Fat, middle aged men rolling around in piles of looted dollars?

And what's-her-bitch-face gettin' ass fucked by some liberal.

Whatever.

As stated, I think it will be good to keep the bluenoses at bay. "What? You didn't know it was a porn site? What cave have you been living in?"

If they continuing coming, we can then question their honesty.

Regarding what's her face, no way! She's such a tight ass you would probably need C4 to loosen her up first. Plus who knows what else has been up there?

No. I could change the answer to "whatever" if the xxx domain registration was to cost the same as all others, instead of being 600% more expensive.

General maiming, murdering, drive bys, the average hollywood script, torture, drug trafficking, are all very low priority moralist issues compared to pornography.

Which is why it's less embarrassing to buy a gun than a condom.

Clearly Tag the Erotic Sites

I think that it is a good idea. :) It helps parents with the practical aspects of them making decisions about their children, and provides them the tools to help support their decisions. And since, we all agree (at lease I assume so) that we want ot keep this material away from children, I thing that it is the socially responsible thing to do to help parents.

However, I would go so far as to say there should be two types of URL suffexes.

XXX for truly hard core porn
EXX for erotic material

However, this brings up the problem of how and who decides which is which.

Buttom Line: Great Idea
