The story on top of the "New" List, The Lady and the Highwayman, starts out describing the first sexual encounter of a sixteen year old, with detail. Am I missing something, or should that story not have been approved?

As far as I know, you're correct. I can't believe that made it through.

Good question. How much detail was there? Was it a simple statement of events, or a blow-by-blow? The latter is supposedly against Lit policy.

I know if they had just written "She lost her virginity at sixteen years old", that would have been fine. But it is a long scene, with quite a bit of detail. It's on the top part of the first page of the link, if you want to take a look.

Thank for the confirmation. I just wanted to make sure I didn't just misread or miss the obvious before I reported anything.

Damn, and my Erotic Couplings story about ex sex between two fortysomethings is not yet approved? Damn!

OMG! And they made me change one line from "She was a senior in high school" to "she had just graduated high school." LOL

They're not mythical characters, right? These are real people?

*scratching head*

it happens. When I first joined lit there was a scanadal because a contest winner had sex with a german sheappard in it. Even editors sometimes miss things. I am kinda surprised at how much they cach, considering all the eroptica they have to wade through :)

A sixteen year old bride would be legal in the UK now.

In the 18th century? Fairly normal.

But not on Lit. I think the story breaks the guidelines. Change 16 for 18 throughout and it wouldn't.

The link to the story now reads 'This submission awaiting moderator's approval'.

Someone has noticed.

Apart from the '16' needing to be changed to '18' I think it is a good story as far as I read.

Wow. I didn't know that.

I once had a story rejected for underage sex. There wasn't any sex in the story

I know the editors are busy, and I know it happens. I think just resubmitting a story if it was wrongfully rejected should be no big deal to an author.

Since someone also needs to go through all of the reports that are sent, I figured I should make sure with this. I tend to miss the obvious.

I had to alter a few words in one story to make it clear that it was all adults, even though the title was, get this, "Angie's An Adult "! Hello!

This is the current thing that link follows:
This submission is awaiting moderator's approval
Then it will be accessible for browsing

this means that someone either got ahold of Laurel or used the link at the bottom to report the story and they pulled it until further review is done.

As to the answer to the question... like others said if it is a BRIEF mention of losing ones virginity underage but NO details sometimes it can fly... but most often then not they stomp on it quick

It wasn't.

It was specific about the heroine being 16 and detail of her sexual encounter with her husband on her wedding night...

Even if the age is changed to 18 there would need to be some editing of the description of her body.

It was an "underage" body?

I don't usually state the actual age of my characters, I do however usually include a disclaimer that all of my characters are 18 and older.

*edited for syntax*

What, Heinz can't have sex? Seems unfair to pick on shepherds ... it's a lonely job. ;)

It was a seeing-eye-dog. They took advantage of him while he was working. His master never saw a thing...I don't think anyone wants to talk about it.

I accept the fact that you can't describe sexual acts with people under 18, although I agree with the laws of my country and think that there's nothing wrong with 15-year-olds having sex.

What I'd like to know is why you can't write about minors in the Non-Erotic Section.

I agree with you, and I don't know about the non-erotic rule either. It seems strange. Then again, this is a porn site, and I can see how even when there's no sex involved, they would want to keep it all clear of anything with minors in it.

Personally? An adult writing of their memory of a first sexual encounter does not bother me (it certainly does not bother Hollywood or publishers). Are you like anal or did you just never had sex prior to 40? :| Lighten up.

Good answer, Svenska, and a GREAT question, too! I would also be curious to the answer on non-erotic. :D

This is not really a porn site, it is an erotic one - porn is not artistic by a stretch - writing is artistic and creative no matter what the niche. (waiting for backlash) :D

I don't think I'm anal about it, and I also don't have a problem at all with people under the age of 18 having sex.

But I imagine that the Lit editors did not purposely overlook the breach of rules and that they would like to know about incidents such as this. I don't go through stories with the intent of reporting rule breaches as soon as I find them. In this story, ít just jumped out at me and I figured I might as well report the story. I usually am the one that stands there and figures others will do what there is to do already, so I don't have to. This time, I decided to be proactive for a change, simply in order to help out, and because I think this is a character flaw of mine sometimes. Are you telling me I shouldn't have been?
