Alrighty. I live in the Pacific Northwest. Well no, technically, I live in the Pacific Southwest, given that I'm in the southernmost westernmost part of Canada... but either way, I'm in that general area.

I'd LOVE to meet you folks. I'd love to go out for dinner, and dancing, or dinner and sight-seeing, or SOMETHING one weekend in February. Why February? Simply because I totally don't have time right now, but can work towards something that far in advance.

So, those of you in Washington, Oregon, BC, Alberta, and anywhere else that feel like hopping a plane, and then a ferry, please, come visit!

No date yet, but I'm thinking the third weekend in Feb...

Sounds cool to me. The biggest issue for me is traveling. I can't go too far from home. Mostly cause the chances of K letting me meet litsters without him being there are . . . well nil. Also chicklet and jadefirefly are here in Portland. I think that kiere is in washington.

I'm right across the straight from Port Angelus. Angeles?

Either way.

That's about four hours from my house. Longview is about two hours from my house, and my mom lives in that area. I have a van and could bring other litsters, if that would work for everyone.

The biggest issue is I have NO idea what there is to do in Longview, other than the park. Oh and there's an awesome play place at the Taco Bell.

I have absolutely NO idea where Longview is...

ETA: I was also hoping to have a kidless sort of event- more evening-ish. If the consensus is for a kid-free event, sure, I'll be there... but I more had dinner and an evening spent somewhere in mind.

I caught that. That's part of the problem. I was making fun of myself when I said the only places I know about in longview are the park and the play place. LOL Longview is right off of I5. It's about two hours from me, that's all I know. We don't have to do longview, I just know that it's about half way between here and port angeles. If anyone has any better ides, I'm cool with that.

Oh I'm not in port angeles. I'm across the straight from it. I have to take a boat to get to PA. and, I have to get my passport together... I may not be able to go to the US at all, until some later date. I have to remember to look into that, this week.

Great idea, LJ!

For anyone who's interested, Leather Reign is February 8-10 in Seattle. If you register by mid-December, it's only $99 for a lot of workshops (six 1.5 hour sessions, I think) and fun. I didn't go last year, but those who did said it was fantastic.

If the Lit-together ends up being in the Seattle area, or anyone wants to go to Leather Reign and needs a free, safe place to stay, let me know. :)

Longview is north of Portland/Vancouver, on the WA side of the Columbia River. It's a couple of hours south of Seattle.

The problem with Seattle is that if I go there I gotta (a) find a sitter for the evening and (b) get a hotel. If everyone wants to do a Seattle get together, that's fine with me, but I wont' be able to go. I understand we might not be able to please everyone, so if that's the consensus my feeling won't be hurt. LOL As it is I have two litsters living in my TOWN. :D I'm pretty lucky.

You are lucky! I HATE living on this rock that I live on sometimes, as no one lives here!

When I first joined lit, there were no kinky litsters here at all. I know their were a few from other forums, but no one I knew. Then chicklet joined lit, and then jadefirefly moved here. :nana:

There are a few litsters in my province, but over on the mainland, not here on the island.

There's one that lives here maybe a few months of the year, but I never get to see him... which sucks, cus he's a complete hottie.

I've met him a few times. I could totally eat him up.

I'm just thinking out loud here, Gracie...

If it is in Seattle (or anywhere north of Longview), could you drop your kids with your mom in Longview on the way?

If you were to come with the two female Litsters in Portland, a hotel room and gas split three ways wouldn't be much. There's safety in numbers, too.

I have one guest room with a queen bed and a comfy queen pull-out downstairs with a private bath. I could even kick my Hubby out of the house for the weekend if that's a concern to a woman who doesn't have money for a hotel room. That, free food and transportation to wherever we meet is what I have to offer.

Erika, that's a heck of a great offer...

I'd love to come down, with my honey (who, by the way, folks, is vanilla), and meet y'all...

I DO have to make sure about passports, though. I can't get into the US without one.

I would be interested! I am a 30 minute ferry trip from Seattle and about an hour drive from Port Angeles. I should be off my walking restrictions (just had foot surgery and can't walk for 12 weeks) by then. I am going down to Houston the last weekend of February but prior to that is all good. I also have 2 bedrooms available for anyone who needs to stay overnight (basically have a full apartment downstairs).

I believe passport wise - if flying you need a passport, if coming via the ferry system or driving you need a drivers license and second piece of id such as birth certificate.

I still have to get my passport going, cus of the honeymoon next September.. if I get it done in time for this, all the better.

It's a possibility. I'm not sure my mom would take my son, though. He's . . . well he's ADHD to the point of being delayed and my mom gets frusterated with him cause he doesn't act like most almost-five-year-olds. (She doesn't believe in ADHD and thinks he's that way cause I baby him. Of course she knows better than two doctors, a psychologist, and several special ed teachers. ) But maybe I could get my mothers helper to come over for a bit. I dunno. I'm working things over in my head, I might figure out a way. I'm gonna run it by K. If chicklet is going he might go for me coming by myself, cause he knows her and knows that she's not gonna be after my hot  body. Plus, as you said - safety in numbers and all that. Plus chicklet drives so if I get tired I can take a break, which will also relieve him.

I heard that you gotta have a passport. Homeland 'security' and all that. There's a special type of drivers license you can get if you live in the US and work in Canada.

Jade, it looks like Canadians entering the U.S. on or after January 31st must either have a valid photo ID AND something like a birth certificate, OR a current passport. Details here: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/whti-ivho/2007-11-09-eng.html

I'm not sure how long the wait for a passport is there, but it's probably shorter than our current wait time. I think I read yours is ~4 weeks, though that may be outdated info. At any rate, if you put it in now, you should have it by February and it'll be one less thing to worry about before the wedding (congrats, BTW! :rose: ).

You and your guy are welcome to come stay with me and mine anytime. I bet you'd have a blast at events like Bang 4 the Buck, a women's amateur strip-o-rama and party to benefit AIDS/Lifecycle.

We should talk - I'd love to get some ideas on a mini-vacation to Victoria and the surrounding area, too, since I've wanted to check it out for years. :rose:

*grin* I'll get started on the passport, probably on Saturday after work.

And yes, I'd love to meet you!!

Portland Kinkfest?

It's March 28-30, according to the kinkfest.org site.

I'm surprised I can't find any info on registration or anything for 2008, considering how long planning has been in the works. Is there a site I don't know about or something?
