I brought this up in a Story Feedback thread but have seen no answer. What does it take to be rape on LIT?

Characters (any gender) forced to suck cock don't seem to fall under the they-must-enjoy-it rule. Is anyone clear on Laurel's murky standards for various types of rapes? Are only penetrating vaginal and anal rapes covered by the rule?

Are forced hand and blow jobs not rape on LIT? Forced tit or armpit fucks? Forced disrobings or exhibitions? Any sexual act that doesn't include penile or instrumental penetration of vagina or anus? How about forced finger-fucks and tonguing -- rape or not? Authors, have your stories with non-consensual but non-PIV or -PIA sex been rejected as rape?

[PIV= penis-in-vagina; PIA= penis-in-anus]

We won't even get into mind fucks, hey?

In "Dagger and Crystal", (SF/F) the protagonist has a very unfortunate encounter with a demon who gleefully takes his ass and mouth to the point where protag nearly dies from it. I painted it as the most horrifying and vile act which could happen to him, no mention of "he enjoyed it in the end". No one batted an eye and the story enjoys a healthy 4.77 score. It's not meant to glorify rape or non-con fantasies, to the contrary. I wanted to show what a nasty bitch the demon is and I think I succeeded. Either Laurel skipped over the rapey bits or she didn't care because the protag was male. I would be very pissed if she retroactively decides to take the story down.

"Shilana's Trial" (also SF/F) has a drug-fuelled section of non-con sex in it as well. Evil priestess muddles protag's brain through psychoactive perfume, turns her futa and unleashes her onto one of her subordinates. Protag enjoys her new dick and the power it brings a bit too much and nearly chokes her poor victim. No issues, 4.83 score. Again, not meant to glorify rape, more a plot device to portray the wicked nature of the antagonists.

But as long as it's make-believe, no harm no foul, right?

I better pull backups now.

I've not read much SF/F here but EH has quite loose snuff standards -- as long as non-humans fuck you to death. A succubus can rape and kill all the humans she wants. Lotsa make-believe there, hey? I should have limited my question to human sex. Is it only rape if a human pokes a penis, baton, or broomstick into another human's nether orifice(s)?

I better pull backups now.
For sure.

My first client long ago was a dude who picked up two girls at a bar, the girls then drugged him and let their gay friends sodomize him, he ended up naked on the courthouse lawn. Its a good story.

Thank you for posting Blind Justice. I've been worried about this myself. I have a series I'm working on that has demons that capture humans and converts them basically into orcs by fucking them. It's definitely non-consent. .but I was considering doing a re-write to re-solve this scenario so that I can avoid a rejection from Laurel.

I was toying with the idea of making the humans unbelievably attracted to the demon, because of a spell or some shit like that. Then, it's nc, but not exactly, because they can't resist.

What do you think?

It seems the prohibition on non-consensual sexual assault has to do with that being the primary erotic focus of the story. Much like killing, if the story's main purpose is to sexually arouse readers with graphic depictions of rape, it'll probably get the ol' heave-ho. If at some point one character is sexually assaulted against their will, but this is not the story's raison d'etre, nor is it leered at by the author, then you will likely get a pass.

Rape and death are not "forbidden" topics (unlike underage stuff, which will always get the ax), they just need to be handled sensibly. Don't make them the entire point of an erotic story, and you'll likely pass them unmolested. :)

Wimp visits female escort. She restrains him. He discovers she’s a transsexual. She’s not a nice person. She fucks him. He doesn’t enjoy it. He leaves. Story categorised as rape because he doesn’t enjoy it. That was the idea. Story rejected.

Resubmitted. As he leaves he asks if he can visit her again. Story accepted.

The story was not about rape. The point of the story was to show her as a nasty person to whom taking a person’s money under false pretences and making him submit to an unpleasant experience didn’t matter as long as she was happy. Actually I might resubmit it as an edit and point out, in the notes, exactly what I’ve just said. The worst that can happen is that my edit gets rejected.

Again, my basic question: Have stories been rejected for non-con sex that is NOT inserting something thick into a vagina or anus? A cop who forces streetwalkers to blow him, maybe with a tit-fuck. A thug who forces women to strip and 69. A priest who demands handjobs in the confessional or wherever. Have such ever been rejected?

One of my contest entries, 'Country Boys Valentine', includes a pivotal scene in which two homophobes are lightly forced/coerced to suck one another. They eventually begin to like it. It went through, but Laurel added the following as the first header -> Editor's note: this story contains scenes of non-consentual or reluctant sex.

Take note that they did in fact learn to enjoy it, the entire story was an exaggerated caricature intended as humor. My take away from this is that any non-consent should be approached with concern and caution, keeping in mind the potential of such scenes/themes to impact a reader who has experienced the trauma of the real thing. IMO, our silly little hobby stories really aren't all that important...it's a big world with a lot of true evil and many wounded souls.

I’ve got a cop who does frequent depraved things, including anal with a crack whore. She doesn’t enjoy it. He gives her some rock afterward. I was curious whether the story would be rejected, so I made sure to start the story with that scene. Later, he gets oral from a young woman in lieu of a traffic ticket; she doesn’t enjoy it much either, though her watching friend does.

No problem with either one.

So I react in two ways.

A. Those scenes are FAR from the main point of the story.

B. Both scenes are transactional, making them more prostitution-y than rapey.

Either way, both of them got through with flying colors and many appreciative readers. So, YMMV.

What flies and what doesn't is really up to her interpretation. So the short answer to this is who knows.Maybe the Character has to enjoy the experience eventually, or at least be turned on.

Well, ideally we here are interested to gather some experiences if not a true volume of data, that could be used as a reference for planning such scenes.

Well, if you absolutely need an example for discussion, consider a gist:

Virgin Guy ends up in all girls school. Girls are all unbelievably horny, so he is well received. He gets couple of handjobs from Blonde1 and Blonde2, cuddles with Subby, even get a blowjob from Chubby-Bubbly, and so on. However over all that, he got his targets on the Crush, who's more reserved but also obviously interested. Then, in a somewhat stressful, time limited situation, LiteDom orders Crush to blow the Guy. She goes at it with lightly reluctant enthusiasm, but it ends bad, Guy lose control and rape her throat. He recognize his wrongdoing right after, and feels awful. So do Crush, but she doesn't make scene of it, nor do LiteDom allow it to unfold. Crush end up being somewhat fearful of the Guy, although still retain some sympathy. Guy decides he fucked it up with Crush, and proceeds fucking a dozen different girls, most of whom he care little about (there may even be some more dub-con, but always enjoyable), all the while still carefully chasing Crush. Eventually they get at it, but it's a long bumpy ride, and when it finally happens there little fanfare, despite wows of eternal love and all, because he is involved in about three other ongoing relationships, and can't offer her anything but a spot in his harem without any pretense of exclusivity, at least for now.

So, here a face rape is seemingly a fairly little event, but it unfolds between the lead characters and is an important plot point that trows what might have been fairly straightforward romance in loops of harem group sex and warped ending that recognizes the damage, but doesn't directly punish it.

It could be depicted in a number of ways, from secretly enjoyed discomfort to brutally realistic tears and puke. The desired might be somewhere right in the middle, but knowing what's allowed might help to decide.

I recently submitted a story in which my main character, who was brutally assaulted once before, is assaulted once again by two transgender dominants. He enjoys it to his dismay and even cums from it.

Rejected even though I've clearly followed Lit's rules and had my main character enjoy the sex.

But I've seen posts in the transgender/crossdresser category that are FULL ON RAPE in which the victim gets no enjoyment out of it or nearly dies.

Accepted and posted.

What is going on with the guidelines? Why do some stories get through and some stories don't?
