I'm too damned lazy to find the thread....

Be My Angel
~ Mazzy Star

They say it's me,
That makes you do things
You might not have done,
If I was away
And that it's me,
That likes to talk to you
And watches you,
As you walk away
Don't say it's useless,
Don't say forget it
Don't bring me wishes,
Of silly dreams
Just say it's all,
From too much freedom
Too many fingers,
And too many themes

They say it's you,
That washes the weary
And brings the night into the day
If you won't notice,
How can I show you
All of you worries,
Have all gone away
Don't leave me lonely,
Don't leave me unhappy
Just bring me up into your fate
If you don't need me,
Then don't deceive me
Letting my freedom turn into stone

Just be my angel,
If you love me
Be my angel,
In the night
Be my angel,
'Cause you need me
Be my angel,
And treat me right

Don't say you love me,
If you don't need me
Don't send me roses,
On your behalf
Just take me down,
And walk through your river
Down the middle,
And make it last
Holding on to you,
Holding on to me
Holding on tight,
'Till my love is crossed
Don't say it's useless,
And don't say forget it
You are my spirit,
Now you are gone

Going with the "pick a thread any thread" technique? :D

One more before sleep.

Mistake
~ Fiona Apple

I'm gonna make a mistake
I'm gonna do it on purpose
I'm gonna waste my time
Cuz I'm full as a tick
And I'm scratching at the surface
And what I find is mine
And when the day is done, and I look back
And the fact is I had fun, fumbling around
All the advice I shunned, and I ran
Where they told me not to run, but I sure
Had fun, so
I'm gonna fuck it up again
I'm gonna do another detour
Unpave my path
And if you wanna make sense
Whatcha looking at me for
I'm no good at math
And when I find my way back,
The fact is I just may stay, or I may not
I've acquired quite a taste
For a well-made mistake
I wanna mistake why can't I make a mistake?
I'm always doing what I think I should
Almost always doing everybody good
Why
Do I wanna do right, of course but
Do I really wanna feel I'm forced to
Answer you, hell no
I've acquired quite a taste
For a well-made mistake, I wanna
Make a mistake, why can't I make a mistake
I'm always doing what I think I should
Almost always doing everybody good
Why

Wow, I just had the worst nightmare.

The world was ending and Iw as the only one who knew it.... there was only one spaceship out, but I couldn't get on it. And the kids I was trying to save betrayed me... woke up with my heart pounding.

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane and Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn - world serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs.
Feed it off an aux speak, grunt, no, strength, no, Ladder start to clatter with fear fight down height.
Wire in a fire, representing seven games, a government for hire and a combat site.
Left of west and coming in a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck.
Team by team reporters baffled, trumped, tethered cropped.
Look at that low playing! Fine, then. Uh oh, overflow, population, common food, but it'll do.
Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed
dummy with the rapture andthe revered and the right, right.
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign towers.
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn.
Locking in, uniforming, book burning, blood letting.
Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate.
Light a candle, light a votive. Step down, step down.
Watch your heel crush, crushed, uh-oh, this means no fear cavalier.
Renegade steer clear! A tournament, tournament, a tournament of lies.
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I dreamt of knives, continental drift divide.
Mountains sit in a line, Leonard Bernstein.
Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom!
You symbiotic, patriotic, slam book neck, right? Right.
It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it. (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone) and I feel fine.
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone) and I feel fine.
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (It's time I had some time alone) and I feel fine.

GREEN DAY

"Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
and I'm the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah,
Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah
Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I walk alone
I walk a...

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone...

Into Dust -

Still falling
Breathless and on again
Inside today
Beside me today
Around broken in two
'Till you eyes shed
Into dust
Like two strangers
Turning into dust
'Till my hand shook with the way I fear

I could possibly be fading
Or have something more to gain
I could feel myself growing colder
I could feel myself under your fate
Under your fate

It was you breathless and tall
I could feel my eyes turning into dust
And two strangers turning into dust
Turning into dust

I was watching my TV last night when they broke in with a special report
About some devastating earthquake in Peru.
There were thirty thousand crushed to death, and even more were buried alive.
On the Richter Scale, it measured 8.2.

And I said, "God, please answer me one question.
Why'd they have to interrupt The Simpsons just for this?"
What a drag! 'cause I was taping it and everything,
And now I'll have to wait for the rerun to see the part of the show I missed.

Why does this always happen, why does this always happen to me?
Why does this always happen, why does this always happen to me?

I was driving down the highway when all the traffic slowed to a crawl.
There was a twelve-car pileup, everybody dead.
And I saw brains and guts and vital organs splattered everywhere,
As well as my friend Robert's disembodied head.

And I thought, "Poor Rob! I just had lunch with him.
Hey, wait a minute. He still owes me money! What a jerk!
Well, THERE's five bucks that I'm never going to see again
And now on top of everything else, it looks like I'm gonna be late to work."

Why does this always happen, why does this always happen to me?
Why does this always happen, why does this always happen to me?

Well the other day my boss said we were running low on toner,
And he told me I should buy another case.
I told him I was busy, but he still just kept on asking
So I turned around and stabbed him in the face.

Oh, and wouldn't you know it, my knife got stuck.
I guess that's probably bound to happen now and then.
But I'm afraid that I bent the tip a little
And now I know that blade will never ever be quite as sharp again.

Quite as sharp again!

Oh, tell me, why does this always happen, why does this always happen to me?
Why does this always happen, why does this always happen to me?

I Will Never Be The Same
~ Melissa Etheridge

So you walked with me for a while
Bared your naked soul
And you told me of your plan
How you would never let them know

In the morning of the night
You cried a long lost child
And I tried oh I tried to hold you

But you were young
And you were wild

But I, I will never be the same
Oh I, I will never be the same
Caught in your eyes
Lost in your name
I will never be the same

Secrets of your life
I never wanted for myself
But you guarded them like a lie
Placed up on the highest shelf
In the morning of the night
When I woke to find you gone
I knew your distant devil
Must be draggin' you along

But I, I will never be the same
Oh I, I will never be the same
Caught in your eyes
Lost in your name
I will never be the same

And you swore that you were bound for glory
And for wanting you had no shame
But I loved you
And then I lost you
And I will never be the same
