So, what is your experience?

Unable to find a non-erotic fiction site with the ease and quality that I have become accustom to here at Lit, I have recently submitted my latest work of nonsexual fiction to the dreaded “Non-Erotic” Section. Lacking the hits, votes and feedback I have enjoyed in the past from my erotic stories, this one has gone virtually unnoticed only to drown in the vast and dusty annals of the Lit catalogue.

Oh well!!! I should have known better.

I was wondering what others experiences have been like in the “Non-Erotic” zone.

At the risk of offending the powers that be by advertising another site, though it is specifically non-erotic, have you tried here?

My non-erotic works haven't been totally ignored, but they don't get the number of reads that my erotica does. Of course, my gay male stories don't get the number of reads my incest stories get. I have found, however, that I have gotten very good feedback for my non-erotic stories, and consistantly enough that I know new people are reading.

I once posted a story with no sexual content. It was rejected because it "seemed to involve sex with persons under eighteen." I didn't argue or resubmit. Why fight it?

Good question. I've got one on the back-burner (with all my stories) but almost complete with both sexual content, and characters that are minors. Not sexual content involving minors, but both are in the story. Would it be rejected?

If it only seemed like it involved under-age sex, it could be that someone suspected MG of using clever and innocuous metaphors to try to bypass the age restrictions.

I think someone just had a wild hair caught crossways somewhere and felt like giving my story the axe. No big deal, and I got over it in just a few horrible weeks of angst and recrimination. It was absolutely terrible, I tell you, but I came through it. Sniff

I doubt it. As long as the minors are

• not having sex
• not watching or eaves-dropping to sex
• not thinking about sex,
