Lit League (Fantasy Football at Yahoo)

Only those willing to give it the full season and take it somewhat seriosuly but mostly have fun need apply. Several slots open as I havnt established the parameters of the league yet.

Preference to whoever I like or generally think is cool. I'm like that. (wink)

Post here or drop an Email. Would like to start this weekend probably as far as figuring out which type of draft works for people and what they want for league settings.

we're doing one at nfl and espn already, I'm not sure the espn one is full up yet, but you can start a whole other one, if you like.

I will do this one on yahoo because its free and easy to navigate.

I will set the parameters some time this week once I have time to think aobut it and get input from those interested. I am asking for a commitment for the season to maintain your team and talk lots of smack.

Ezarc, you're in, as long as you're willing to wait for me to set the exact guidelines soemtime this week. I will make aproposal to those signed up and then accept feedback and then we will get the show rolling.

Thats 7 with a commitment I need to confirm so possibly eight.

We can do the league with either 8 or ten people. I will try to confirm one more tonight and then I will work on setting the league up and getting started.

If anyone who I have listed wishes to back out this would be the time.

Any ideas from participants about the draft, etc?

We can do a draft over time as we can name players and I will enter the rosters when we are finished or we can do an autodraft or we can do a live draft(highly unlikly we could schedule this though).

With 8 teams every team can make the playoffs. If we extend it to 10, two teams would be eliminated before the playoffs. Eight teams might be the perfect number unless there is more interest.

I wouldn't mind a live draft myself of course scheduling is the big thing but as long as it takes part during an evening or even late afternoon, I can plan around it.

Since i am in Australia, me being online (and available) for a live draft would probably not be possible. (i usually update Lit from work when no one is looking )

Yep, they use an autodraft where you can either use their set pre-season rankings (based on last year and previous years) or you can move the players you want first up to the top and they will be selected first for you if still available.

You are both correct, if I understand. Its the same as all their sports drafts, its autopick by default.

My thought is to forget the idea of a live draft and go with an autopick. With the ranking of players it allows for a degree of choice as well as keeping the playing field level for those with less time to put in.

I had thought of doing our own draft via Email, with a set draft order and then every person making picks and passing along the updated list. if each person checked their Email frequently it could get done in a few days. The problem withthat is that if one person is away or tied up the entire draft will come toa halt.

Unless anyone has any other ideas I would prefer to go with autopick, with the ability to pre-rank players, of course.

Other parameters for the league.....

Head to Head scoring:

One team against another witharotating schedule. This is the most competitive and seems the most fun. ANd yous till have something to play for if your team sucks.

I plan on going close to the yahoo default settings for players and scoring, with minor tweaking to what I think is more competitive, maybe an additional roster spot or two, etc.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

The plan is to have the league set up this weekend(I have been busy but would like to have the league name and password sent to everyone by Sunday night) with a few days for people to establish rankings and then once every team has set themselves to ready, the draft willace within 3 days.
