Lit by oil lamp. Again!

ARRRGGH! I lose power at my house generally once each summer in a bad storm. I keep an oil lamp for just such occasions. BUT, it always seems to happen the night before I have to travel somewhere so that I have to pack in the dark!

Guess who is now on laptop battery and oil lamp for light? At least tomorrow I don't have to leave until later in the day so I can pack in the moring in daylight.

If I'm not around in the morning, have a nice weekend, everyone!

The rain just stopped. At least from this round of storms. I'm hoping I have electric back by morning or it will be a real pain in the ass.

I loved that storm Piper. And I know you live in my area so you know what i mean. Work was out of power (as well as the entire grid). No power ANYWHERE. No stores, no houses, not even street lamps. Nada. That was fun.

Now I have a water leak from the top of the frame of my patio door in the kitchen. Which is on the first floor! I'm afraid to go upstairs to see what the ceiling looks like if it is dripping down the wall. Roof repairs in my future, I can see it now...

Pictures? Hmmmmm... nope, don't think so.

I'm back! At least for a short time during breakfast.

Power came back on during the night so I'm not even on oil lamp and battery power any more. I've had my hot shower and I'm about to have breakfast, and then I'm out of here!

The rain leak is worse than I thought. My house stunk of mold/mildew when I got home tonight- another large spot on the ceiling that is wet. Ack- I see major roof repair work ahead!
