I've long been intrigued and confused by resurrected threads, specifically on the Am Pic board. Not the kind that are brought back to life by the original poster, who decides to take a second swing at things, but those that flash briefly to life after years without activity, and then fades away just as quickly. Why does this happen? Are these brand-new users who riffle through threads and drop in on those they like, without realizing that the poster dropped out three years ago? When you're new to Lit, is there no filter to show you the most recent threads? Or is it a kind of desperate hope that a message will somehow recall the original poster to life? Certainly we've all seen our share of lovely threads that fade for whatever reason, but why not leave well-enough alone? Has this plan ever worked?

What are your experiences with thread resurrection?
