Sadly, I can't get to a game today. But I will have football on tv and we've got pizza and wings and I'm planning on brats for dinner tonight. Not quite a tailgate, but still tailgate-ish.

After we transplanted to Georgia back in 2005 I bought air time on their official game day radio network , bought it in blocks……..it’s pretty cool to hear your name on the radio during game day and they are kinda sorta endorsing you. ….. again nicest people to do business with true southern hospitality.

I don't know if this is what you mean, and if I am misunderstanding and way off topic I apologize.

A few years ago, my wife, an attorney, was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from her alma mater from her university. It was a big deal and a SEC football school in a town where they have no pro sports and the university's football and basketball teams are kings.

We flew out for the ceremony and then were invited to attend the University's President's Tailgate.

It was in a huge tent in the parking lot. 100s were in attendance. The food was catered by the finest chefs in the area. The damn college marching band played for us, an actual US Senator was there and the elite of the town were hobbing and nobbing.

Now, this is true, I had never attended a college football game before or ever been to a tailgate. And I never have since.

What a way to go!

(BTW: Sitting in the President's box on the 50 yard line, the game was great! I've been to a Superbowl. This was more fun.)

My grandsons 3rd grand team has a game this morning. He’s starting this morning at running back . His first start since being a walk on of sorts. It’s his first season , he’s been playing nose tackle.

He has already told me he’s going to play for the Crimson Tide when he goes to college. His Dad’s alum.

So I’m going to rollllllllllllll tide with him This season. watching college ball .

My grandson’s team got destroyed yesterday , I’m thinking the other teams QB was coached by TomBrandy’s Alt and their team was the purple people eaters Alts .
