Ellie and Seth have known each other for all of their lives. Their mothers went to school together, were pregnant together, and have continued to live next door to each other since. Seth was a few months older than Ellie, and since her birth they were inseparable, played together, went to school together, told each other things they never told anyone else, and were basically brother and sister in every sense of word except by blood.
Now in their mid-twenties, they were celebrating the wedding of a mutual friend of theirs from college. The reception was a blast, as most of their close friends were there dancing, drinking, and having the time of their lives. As the evening came to a close and the newlyweds were sent off to their honeymoon suite, the rest of the group slowly and drunkenly made their way from the hotel ballroom to their respective rooms.
Ellie and Seth had booked a room together, something they've done countless times before, since it just made things easier and cheaper, and they hardly ever got tired of the other's presence. The elevator doors finally closed after their friends Olivia and Sean got off on their floor, saying their 47th drunken goodbye after a long night of partying. As Ellie and Seth's room was on the top floor they now found themselves alone in the elevator. Ellie's strappy high-heels were dangling from her fingers as she leaned against the mirrored wall of the elevator, her head swimming from booze and happiness.
She made a knowing smile at Seth, seeing his face reveal that he was just as drunk as her. This definitely wasn't the first time they had gotten this drunk together and they were pretty good at taking care of each other the next morning, so she wasn't worried at all about how the rest of the night was going to turn out. It was more than likely going to end with them passing out as soon as they hit their respective queen beds.
Ellie decided to tease him anyway, sluggishly kicking her leg up and nudging his hip with her bare toes. They were painted dark green to match her dress, which hugged her curves and was floor-length, but had a slit running up the leg to allow her the ability to perform such a high kick.
"You're drunk." She slurred with a smile on her lips. She was half-sitting against the bar that ran along the mirrored wall now, both hands holding on for support. "Don't expect me to hold your hair back while you throw up." She joked, reaching up and brushing her own hair behind an ear. Her coppery red hair had started out the night beautifully curled and pinned back with a diamond barrette, had since become loose and disheveled from all the dancing.
She had a feeling it would be him doing the hair holding like he had done countless times before. She loved him for that, he was always selfless in times like these, especially since he could hold his liquor better than her. She said a silent prayer that tonight wasn't going to be a miserable one, and that she could just pass out and deal with the aftermath in the morning.
